I have always been fascinated with Astoria since I was a child. My dad and I would always travel through town on our way to Seaside, OR for our camping trips. I loved the houses built up on the steep hillsides, the river with the huge ships and the neatest bridge I'd ever seen. Plus it was home to the... More

Just returned from a few days in Astoria. Hadn't been there in probably 20 years and what a great surprise. CPH is a wonderful place to stay, complete with magnificent views of the mighty Columbia and the beautiful Astoria bridge. Excellent service, rooms were beautiful and comfortable, breakfast and a warm and cozy happy hour. Easy access to thr river walk and... More

No doubt about it, this is a very good hotel and we enjoyed our stay very much. The only reservation (no pun intended) I'd have about giving an unqualified 5 would be about the construction. The floors throughout (meaning the rooms as well) are some sort of laminated wood (like Pergo). It seems cheap & it's already buckling in spots... More

My girlfriend and I took an impromptu trip to the coast for the weekend. I called up the day before and asked if they had any last-minute specials and they did not disappoint. This was out 2nd stay at the Cannery Pier Hotel and each time has been great. The service is very friendly and feels like a family-run place... More

I have been traveling for business and pleasure for more than thirty years and this is one of the most pleasant hotels I have ever stayed at. Rooms are fabulous, the views are unbeatable, and the staff is helpful and pleasant. Although the most expensive property in Astoria, it's worth it. Let's face it, you're on vacation, splurge a little... More

I was very impressed by my all-too-brief stay at this hotel. The architects did a nice job creating historic ambience in what appears to be a thoroughly new building built on the footings of an old cannery pier. All of the guest rooms face the water, so you can't go far wrong there. On arrival, the front desk staff poured... More

Visiting from Australia, we stayed for two nights just after Christmas and wished we had booked for a longer stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff couldn't do enough to make us feel at home-it was so nice to have 'real' help in choosing a great place to eat (see the Urban Cafe) The rooms are wonderful-spacious, well decorated,... My fiancee and I stayed for a couple days in late December. The hotel is literally on the Columbia River which is pretty cool. Great views of the bridge, river traffic, and of the city. It is a little on the pricy side, but worth it for the amenities and view. We had a king room on the second floor.... More

WOW!!!! What a gem of a hotel in what many consider to be a "drive-thru" town, Astoria, Oregon. We stayed two nights over New Years and were delighted from the moment we stepped into the foyer. Warm and cozy with a super friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms are all on the water side with views of the Colombia River... More
