Due to the off-season the rates were incredibly inexpensive; $99 plus tax. But I looked Trip Advisor last fall at this hotel & the rates were affordable. It is close to many fine restaurants & bars/clubs. I could also see this being a great place to stay on business, as it has free wifi, nice desk, ipod docking station/radio in... More

The website for this hotel belies how incredibly beautiful this hotel is, which makes arriving such a sweet surprise. The parking lot directly across the street charged us $20 for the night. The front desk of the hotel mentioned a parking lot that charged $15 but it wasn't as close, so we decided to pay the extra $5 to be... More

Good price, very clean, GREAT location. It is an old building, so the 2nd floor(which is the lowest floor for the hotel) can get a little noisy due to the restaurant and street. We also have stayed on the 4th floor which was silent. Overall great stay in a great location. More

I frequent Philadelphia quite often. Sometimes I stay with friends and sometimes I like to splurge a little and treat myself to some of the quality accommodations the City of Brotherly Love has to offer. While I often stay at many of the more well-known hotels in center city, (Sofitel, Palomar, and the Double Tree) to name a few, The... More

Had an incredible weekend @ The Independent. I've had multiple trips to Philadelphia for both work and pleasure and this was my first stay @ The Independent. It was more than pleasurable. The room was pristine, clean, comfortable. The staff was incredibly helpful. The Independent gave a very warm feel to a busy city. Excellent walking distance to South Street,... More

I found this hotel by chance and I'm so glad I did! I love it's boutique atmosphere and the room we had honestly reminded me of home - didn't feel like a hotel at all. Close to everything, lovely staff, hallways that smelled of fresh flowers...I will definitely be bacl! More

First of all, I love that this hotel was unique and not trying to be like the many chain hotels we often stay in. It was almost like a bed and breakfast in the way the breakfast was delivered to your room at the requested time. The decor was thoughtful and almost had us changing our itinerary to stay another... The hotel location - GREAT The room layout, etc. - GREAT The service - very pleasant and helpful Where our room was located - very noisy. Despite the incredibly annoying (and sleep depriving) street noise, I would definitely check it out again, and recommend it to friends. Our room was #203, and it was directly above the restaurant door on... More

The hotel was situated in a great area close to the arts district (Broad St.). It was super easy to find and has a lot of character. It is a boutique hotel--so no business center or gym although they do give you gym pass for one nearby if you ask. Paid parking is across the street from the hotel, but... More

Stayed here 26th Nov for a week to celebrate our 25th wedding aniv ( hoped for an upgrade ) and had a great time. A few people have mentioned that it can be noisy if you have a room on the street, you can stay at the Ritz Carlton a few blocks away and still hear noise, this is America... More
