Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Summer rental, Silver Bear #33. Unit was fine if a little dated. Comfy couches, lots of small appliances. Original tiny bathrooms, small tile countertops, no air conditioning and ancient VERY loud washer/dryer. Management company was awful. Had an issue, texted them at 7 PM the day we arrived (per instructions in the unit that said to text) - no response. Texted 3 times - nothing. Attempted to look up the unit on vrbo... no listing. It had been "removed at the request of the owner"? No checkout instructions anywhere.... Left a day early, sent an email informing the management company that we had removed all trash, left keys/door opener on the counter, dishes were running in the dishwasher, used towels piled up, etc. Now the management company is all upset that WE didn't do more, and seems to be claiming that we never followed non-existent instruction. So - beware "Properties of Mammoth", unless you are OK with spending your vacation hounding them to do their job.

This was the best condo unit I have stayed in while visiting Mammoth, but a wide open dumpster was a nightly bear attractant. In addition, the pool was marked as closed the entire time yet I saw management use it in the evening with their families. The bear easily got into the pool area and went through that trash can as well. Just the day before my kids were in that space alone and could easily have come across that bear because of the trash that was not thrown out from the previous nights grilling.

We stayed in Silver Bear Condo #20, the condo was wonderful. I have never seem a condo with such an array of amenities, these owners have thought of everything. The condo makes you feel right at home from the minute you walk in. There are even little special touches around the condo, towels folded in special ways, pillows on the beds, the bedspreads are lovely, ice maker and such much more. We will definitely stay here again if at all possible. Thank you Megan and Jason and a big thank you to Alex from Five Star Lodging for all your help!!!!

We had such wonderful time at your beautiful condo #36 at Silver Bear. Everything was done to perfection. We felt like we were being welcomed to a friends gorgeous vacation home. The bottle of wine and gourmet cookies was a special touch. Only on minor suggestion is in relation to the location to the tv in the front bedroom. Although it is situated well for the twin (we only had 2 couples staying so the twin beds were not used) from the queen bed we had to watch tv in the closet mirror. Thanks for making this a special trip for us.

We stayed in unit 33 and the decorations and furnishing for this condo was outstanding. There was a very large, comfortable sectional sofa and a older but functional Sony flatscreen TV in the large living room. This unit has many windows which provided good lighting and ventilation. The window coverings on all windows were nice wooden blinds. The master bedroom has a very large and tall king bed(like a few feet off the floor). The furnishings in the this bedroom was very nice and it had many useful items like humidifiers and fans. The second bedroom had two very comfortable double beds and similar furnishing. All rooms have flatscreen TV's and DVD players. The WI-Fi in the unit worked flawlessly. The kitchen was very well appointed and had everything you would need. It is obvious that the owners take pride in the unit, as it is decorated and maintained as if it were a private residence. The unit was sticked with laundry detergent(for the in unit washer and dryer), bathroom items and such things as first aid kits and many more items that I have never seen in Condo Rentals in Mammoth. I have been vacationing in Mammoth for over 35 years, have stayed in many properties in Mammoth and this was by far the nicest unit I have stayed in.

This is a condominium complex located within one block easy walk of Canyon Lodge Ski area at Mammoth Mtn. The complex exterior is somewhat dated but the unit we stayed in (#26) was very nicely renovated with quality decor and furnishings, great kitchen with granite, etc. We had two families (7 people total) and found the accommodations very spacious. The only negative comments: Owner advertises one King and one Queen Master Bedroom but both Masters had Queen beds only, no kings. There were supposed to be TV's in each room however one of the Masters had no TV. WiFi was not available as represented on the web site and when we called management to ask why, no one could help us. Other than "101 Great Escapes Management" not being overly helpful, we were happy with our stay and would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for quality accommodations and fun family time skiing in Mammoth!

Silver Bear Condos has undergone renovations in the past year. The common area hallways have new carpet and paint. The condos were built in the 1990s (as opposed to the surrounding condos that were built in the 1970s). So, there is underground parking (no shoveling snow), forced air heating (not electric wall units), and it was built up to code with fire sprinklers. Best of all, this condo complex is WALKING DISTANCE TO CANYON LODGE! We stayed at Silver Bear with some friends for Christmas/New Years 2006/2007. It was great! Each condo unit is different apparently because our friends had a differently decorated condo.
