1/521 hours ago on  Google The one star is for the location and for the some of the service and quality in the Press Club Grill and Early Edition coffee bar. I am on the road over 200 days a year with Hilton, many of them in NYC, and this one is lowest 10% of any I've ever stayed at anywhere. My husband joined me this trip and was not at all impressed with the property or service. Location- You can't get closer to Penn Station, Subway, and Madison Square Garden. It's the only thing keeping me here after multiple stays at this property where the service gets worse every time. Press Club Grill- bar service is friendly and fast. Table service is slow and not friendly. The hosts and the managers are very friendly and welcoming. I was loaded down last night with bags and the hostess not only opened the door for me, offered to help with my bags. Some of the food is really well done (Waldorf Salad, Hangar Steak). Sit in the bar area. Room service- Inconsistent, usually badly prepared for the same items as the restaurant. I ordered a medium well burger the other night and it was bloody. It took me 2 hours to eat from the time I ordered. I ordered the cauliflower lasagna and it had the wrong sauce and was ice cold. I ordered sodas and they were warm and I had no way to open glass bottles. Just a few examples. Early Edition- very good, but don't be in a hurry. Doormen/Bellmen/Valet area- I come and go every day (for the past 3 weeks this trip) and no one greets me or offers to get the door, and I'm usually loaded down with multiple bags or boxes from work. Twice, I have been told when asking about something, not my job go to the front desk, only to go to the Front Desk who tells me it's not their job. Security- They do keep the homeless out of the lobby and check keys at 10 PM, although you think they would know me after 3 weeks. They are not nice to food delivery or laundry service people that I've done business with. Housekeeping- WILDLY inconsistent. Tried to enter my room and scared me to death. Manager said it was because there was a stain on the carpet and they needed to clean it. That should have been taken care of before I was given the room and still does not change the uneccesary point of room entry. Also- 3 weeks later, the stain is still there and my carpet has been vacuumed once. My vanity, table and desk I eat from never get wiped down and I have bought my own spray and paper towels to do so. No coffee today, and restocking is hit or miss. Gift shop- looks nice, but it has never been open once that I've been here. Front desk- lazy and rude every stay, and there is usually a huge line, and checkout is an ordeal with billing. I gave up on the Front desk last trip, but have had to deal with them 2x this trip. They spend more time explaining why something can't be done or why it's not their job than it takes to do a task that even a basic Motel 6 usually takes care of for guests. Both times they were not helpful and this morning ended up in a shouting match just trying to drop of my laundry for pick up. The valet had already told me that he did not he did not do this, go to Front Desk. Front Desk said not my job, go to valet. Then just flat out said, not my job when I came back. I just wanted a cup of coffee and to drop off my laundry and ended up late for work and in a bad mood. Management allows this poor behavior and has refused to address issues over several stays. The manager did not think it was a big deal that housekeeping entered my room with out warning when I reported the incident. In short, stay elsewhere. I really tried with this place because of the proximity to transit. I won't be back, and I will recommend to others that currently stay here on a regular basis (who are complaining of similar experiences) to go elsewhere, and will be letting my travel agent know my opinion of this property and not to book anyone in the future.

Hotel's Favourite
Great location, clean and elegant and we got a great deal! Love Koreatown and the centrality of this hotel. Easy train access and multiple options of late night eats. I felt safe walking at night in this neighborhood. The hotel staff was accommodating for all requests. I plan to return to this hotel.

We wanted a cute hotel with a comfy bed and decent shower. This hotel was so much more. Staff was ok, room was small but bed was super comfy and the Press Club Grill had really great food. Shower was decent size and gym had good amount of workout equipment. Definitely in a great location; and super close to Koreatown and the subway.

Great location as we wanted to be close to Hudson Yards and Penn Station. Staff greeted us each time we entered the hotel. Was pleasantly surprised how great the restaurant ( breakfast) was! Huge plate of Nova platter and the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes were to die for! Friendly waitresses both times we ate ate the restaurant. They play great music too. We had the King Studio and it was very large. It's in Koreatown so we had a great dinner there. Highly recommend this hotel due to the price and location for us.

Check-In & Arrival: - Aggressive Upselling: Immediate pressure at Check-In to purchase a room upgrade with a „special“ offer. - Mandatory Daily Charges: Inconsistent, intransparent and compulsory additional charges for daily in-hotel spending on food and drinks (in our case of USD 35), distorting the true market value per night. Room: - Size and Comfort: Cramped rooms with a standard small bed (only around 1.40m wide for a couple). Bedding was lacking comfort. - Amenities: No minibar was available without an upgrade. - Poor Soundproofing: The doors and walls were inadequately soundproofed, allowing noise from other guests at all hours. - Water Quality Issues: No water available one night; disturbingly, brown water the following day (from shower, sink and toilet) which was unacceptable and concerning from a hygiene perspective. Staff & Service: - General Staff Attitude: Staff personnel were dismissive and unhelpful, with the exception of the cleaning personnel. - Disturbing Checkout Incident: Caution should be exercised with transport arrangements vis the hotel. A doorman/porter questioned our transport arrangements and dissuaded us from taking an Uber XL to Newark Airport, arranging a yellow cab as a cheaper alternative. After a lengthy wait and misleading claim of lower costs (under USD 120), the yellow cab driver, seemingly in collusion with the doorman, demanded an exorbitant fare (of USD 150 to Newark Airport). When denying to accept this rate, the yellow cab driver insulted us and aggressively kicked us out of the cab, where the involved doorman confronted us, leading to a heated discussion. This unethical and unprofessional behavior, which we suspect was part of a scheme, created a stressful and unacceptable situation. Overall Conclusion: Our stay was overshadowed by a constant sense of being treated more as sources of revenue than as valued guests. From aggressive upselling tactics and hidden charges to subpar amenities and unethical staff behavior, made our experience thoroughly disappointing.

Below average. Paid for a room upgrade my room was literally 300 ft.² I know I know, location, location . No coffee in room. Didn’t discover that until I woke up and had to be at the office. Ordered a $60 plus fillet it was delivered in a box with plastic utensils. Asked for a plate, silverware, and a glass wine glass, (yes, I had to drink out of the plastic water cup from the room). Was told because of Covid (!!!), only disposable products are used. The service was marginal at best. Won’t be back.

Our room was ready early. They cleaned it the next day before we returned. We did not have much interaction with staff, except we had to check out at the front desk because it wasn’t available thru the app. But they were friendly. It’s a good location, close to Penn Station and other attractions. The food at the hotel restaurant is expensive, even for NYC and not kid friendly. It’s nice enough, but if you want luxury or a beautiful view, this is not your hotel. The rooms are small, and ours didn’t have a window that faced outdoors, only the indoor courtyard. It was supposed to be Deluxe King, but there was nothing deluxe about it. WiFi was not good.

A reasonably comfortable hotel. But if, like me, you need to work from your room, I wouldn't rely on the in-house Wi-Fi. It kicks me off every 10 minutes, which is awkward when I'm in the middle of something that requires a continuous internet connection. Frustrating.

This is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location (32nd and 6th)! I would absolutely stay here again. There is a subway right outside of the hotel for easy transit. You are literally 1 and 1/2 blocks away from the Macy's. There are a number of restaurants just outside the doors. The staff was wonderful! The rooms were nice size (for New York) and housecleaning was daily. We are walkers so we walked to Time Square, Broadway, the Empire state building, etc. As long as you're aware of the daily charge, it's really not a big deal. We enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this hotel.
