We recently took a weekend trip to visit the Antietam Battlefield and one of the highlights of our adventure was our night at the Jacob Rohrbach Inn. We stayed in what used to be the outdoor kitchen, beautifully renovated and charming, with a sitting porch overlooking the back garden. Joann is a great hostess and a terrific cook. We were... More

We made last minute plans to stay hear a week before our anniversary. They were so accommodating. The Antietam room on the 2nd floor is awesome. You get a huge porch that overlooks the garden. They roast and brew their own coffee! One of the many exciting things at breakfast.

From lively, Civil War-themed décor to lavish, lovingly-made breakfasts, this was the best of the B&Bs we've visited. Joanne & Paul worked hard to make their guests happy and comfortable, but made it seem effortless. Always homemade cookies in the dining room and breakfast recipes from Better Homes and Gardens (or possibly Southern Living). The grounds and garden were at... More

My wife and I stayed at the JR Inn during a weeklong getaway which included DC. It is really a fabulous old home with fascinating early 19th C. and Civil War history behind it. Joanne and Paul were excellent hosts and the breakfasts were delicious (and ample). Although we missed the Memorial Day parade along Main Street on Saturday, we... More

We arrived early and Joanne gave us recommendations of what to do before our scheduled tour. The tour she set up was fantastic. We then checked in and our room was perfect. Joanne recommended places for dinner. Our room was the Clara Barton Suite and it was very comfortable. We had one of our best nights sleep on our 2... More

My husband and I stayed in the Clara Barton Suite on the second floor front of the house. It was large with a sitting room and bath with a claw foot tub that had an added shower. We were a little late arriving, but Joanne met us with menus and info on where to go for dinner. She had DVDs... More

The room was very nice with a private entrance and a patio. This was nice! My husband had a place to smoke his cigar without bothering me or anyone else. The owner is extremely knowledgable about the inn and the area. We will stay here again.
