We arrived at the airport, took the train (Bart), walked a couple of blocks and made it to the hotel with no problem. (TIP: If you get lost after the getting off the train, walk to market and 8st, there is a Starbucks and you can either ask the barista or use their wi-fi to get to McAllister). The hotel... More

I'd never visited SF before and thought staying around Union square and block from a Hilton, would be a safe bet. NO! The neighborhood was horrible, the rooms were deceiving from what they show on the internet. I wasn't expecting much since it's not that expensive, but it was a slap in the face.

We had booked 3 nights at this place and our bad experience started at the airport where our taxi driver couldnt speak a word of english and had no idea where we wanted to go. He eventually gave us his navigator and we put in the address after driving around the same block twice! Upon arrival to the hotel there... More

We're all for budget traveling and are advocates for "you get what you pay for". This hotel's rooms are comfortable, clean and great value for money with breakfast included. However the location of this place is not for the faint of heart or those from a somewhat sheltered existence. Although not a far walk to either Market, Union Square or... More

As many things in life, you get what you pay for. This hotel is extremely cheap, so for the low-budget traveler is OK. HOWEVER, the floor is squeaky, the smell is funny, the bed linings and towels have sometimes weird stains and the neighborhood looks a bit dangerous (though the location is relatively good). Decide for yourself, and have a... More

We booked this hotel as a last minute 2 night stay in San Francisco, on arrival we were told we had to pay an additional fee for using valet parking before our check in time, meaning we paid for 3 nights parking instead of 2. We then waited 30 minutes for the valet guy to show up and take the... More

My experience was horrible. I had fully paid for the hotel through Travelocity. When I arrived, the hotel refused to take my debit card for incidentals, and asked for a "real" credit card, or $100 cash. There was a printed paper sign posted at the desk, but there is no inference to this policy given on their website. I don't... More

This place is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Hotel claims that there is parking nearby, but when I arrive, the only parking is their valet service for $30. Even street parking is nearly non-existant because of metering and street-cleaning rules. When I complained, management told me that "parking nearby" referred to their valet service. The room had... We were looking for a centric location during our stay in San Francisco and this was the perfect place. There are many hotels in the downtown area but they are a bit costly and father away than San Francisco Symphony. After reading some of the reviews we went in with low expectations but we were pleasantly surprised. Room was nice,... More

I must admit I was a little bit worried about staying at this hotel after reading some of the previous reviews. However, I'm glad I took my chances and booked it anyway! The location was perfect for seeing the sights of San Francisco, the staff was friendly and the room was clean. It also seems that it had been remodeled... More
