Stayed for just the one night. Got a good night's sleep which was the main thing. Didn't think the staff were particularly friendly or helpful. The room was a bit old and many things did not work, particularly lighting. There was a free DVD kiosk which was good, wi-fi was good. Took some great sunset photos from across the road.... More

I were staying here for 11 days in April and had a very good time. The service was nice, good housekeeping. The beach is only 2/3 minutes walk from the hotel and i got to watch some beautiful sunsets from there. You might wanna go to one of the bigger and betther beaches that's a few minutes drive away.

Eventhough the Maui Lu does need some TLC, it's great value for the money. Spend the extra cash and upgrade to ocean front. They 2 beach coves are beautiful and the locations was great. It looks like this hotel was lovely once and very active. Part of the hotel is abandoned and the part that is active is very old but reasonably maintained. (the towels hatch is actually an odd hatch......) Staff is very nice and friendly, Location is good and on the other side of the road are lovely beaches.

Hotel staff were very attentive and accommodating. Room stayed clean. Everything was nice and orderly. Access to beach was phenomenal. Bed was comfortable.
