I and my mother come here every year and reserve a house. We prefer the lower ocean front which also has a propain freestanding fireplace. Luckily for the past two years we got the first house #300 which has a lovely view (I think the best view). Anyway everything you need is there. Fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, four bedrooms.... More

We mostly stay at the RV park. It is average because there is no sewer, just water and electric. However, it is right on the bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You can walk down to the long, long beach in just five minutes. The resort is small. They have a huge, nice hot tub and a fun zone for kids.... More

My wife & I (plus extended family) have been staying here at least once a year for the last 9 or so years (with the exception of 2012...due to various reasons, we just couldn't make it this year). We got married at Pacific Beach in 2005...even had the wedding on the beach (at the south end of the resort, where... More

I shared a room with family at the PBRCC in August. I was told these buildings and rooms were former military facilities and housing and it definitely looks like it. The rooms are very basic, a bit on the low end of the scale, but clean and functional. Our room was on the small side with two queen beds side... More

This facility is limited to military, retired military, and Gov't employees. The facilities are nice. We rented a 4 bedroom house (formerly base housing). Recently rennovated. Short distance to the beach. Just go north of the facility fence line is access to the beach. You are allowed to drive/park on the beach. Bring a kite and a jacket. Plenty of... More

This is a great place for families. We rented a four bedroom cottage. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The kitchen, dining and living room were one big room. The table was huge. We were about a block away from the main lodge. The lodge had children's movies showing three times a day, a game room, gift shop, dining room... More

We stayed in remodeled rooms in an older wing of the resort; our wing is visible on aerial photos dating back to the 1940's, hanging in the lobby. The rooms were pretty nice; big windows, a plush reclining chair, a nice couch, gas heater/pseudo fireplace unit, large flat screen TV in both the sitting room and the bedroom, a king... More

We went to the Windjammer for breakfast on 5/30/12. The food, as we have previously experienced, was very good. The service this time was extremely poor. The waitress seemed half asleep, and the wait time was very, very long. She seemed to be taking an order, waiting for it to be cooked, then making the toast, and serving it (eventually)... More

This facility is only for current or retired military so we go with friends at least once a year. You can rent cottages....previous military housing...or stay at the hotel. Rates are extremely reasonable and they have been updating the property for a number of years. We were there again last week and have to say the restaurant is not as... More

We gave been coming to the Pacific Beach Resort for about twelve years now -- usually twice a year. It has been a tradition carried on even after my parents have passed on, and still as enjoyable as ever. Pacific Beach resort is an old, decommissioned Naval Communications station from the Cold War that has been converted to a modern,... More
