As Activities Director with the Roanoke Ski Club I thoroughly enjoyed working with Heidi and Dave prior to and during our recent visit (June, 2013) to this very special Inn! What a "gem" I found while doing my research for lodging for our 3-day weekend adventure! Not only a terrific location (close to I-81 & I-64) but so many interesting... More

I visited the Iris Inn in June of 2013 with 17 of my Roanoke Ski Club friends and had a wonderful time at the Inn. The rooms are so spacious and clean and the cabins are so cozy! Breaksfast was great and they serve great wines in the evenings. I throughly enjoyed myself. Hedi and Dave do a wonderful job... More

The Iris Inn was clearly one of the best times we've had at an inn- type lodging. We were with a group of nine couples on a wine tasting trip together. The innkeepers could not have been nicer - they made sure everyone was taken care of. They enjoy what they do and it shows! The facility is very nice... More

My wife and I recently had a three week adventure in Virginia that included four days in the Waynesboro, Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park area. Our choice of Dave and Heidi's wonderful B and B was an excellent one. This is a more modern B&B but we like that occasionally as opposed to historic houses. The inn has very... More

We do not typically stay at bed and breakfast inns, but the Iris Inn is not your typical B&B. We stayed in one of their new cabins and we could not have been happier. The "cabin" has all the modern amenities and then some. The decor is modern and clean, the bathroom very nice and the shower has a sliding... More

The service was fantastic from the time we arrived to the time we left. This was the most relaxing weekend we have had in a long time. Dave and Heidi were wonderful. Dave gave us info about the area and was very helpful with anything we needed. Breakfast was awesome. We had scrambled eggs, bacon, belgain waffle with strawberries and... More

Cleanest room I have ever stayed in. Inn is beautifully situated and warmly appointed. Stayed for just the weekend but will be back and again! Stayed in the Bird Room which was right off the common room which was very nice nice and quite.

My husband booked a weekend getaway for my birthday. We had a gift card from x-mas for B&B.com, or something like that. Lucky us, the Iris Inn was a part of this. We stayed in Cabin #3. It was an amazing room. Very new, I believe the owner said they were just finished in Dec. 2012. Very modern for an... More

My boyfriend and I were in town for a weekend wedding in Charlottesville and we decided instead of staying at the hotel that was booked for the wedding, we would try out the Iris Inn and we are so happy we did! We stayed in the cabins and what a treat! We brought food to make breakfast, the cabin supplies... More

This was a great choice. The Inn is lovely and the innkeepers are welcoming, helpful and informative about where to go (necessary especially for local restaurants). This would be a great choice for anyone wanting a "wind down" weekend like we had. The sunset view from our room (in the Inn proper) was spectacular. Just a note that the best... More
