We started the camino walk from here and everything was ok apart from it was a bit old fashioned and lacked attention to detail.My bathroom was a bit strange and I found lots black mould which I do not like at all.Apart from that all was ok

Very good hotel, food and service. It was cheaper than a Peregrino Albergue and easier to book. The daily menu is a bargain, even reccomended by the local people. The rooms were very clean and spacious with good pillows and linens. Lots of small details that show attention to customer satisfaction.

Very nice 2-day stay. We enjoyed the great location, very good food in the cafeteria, and pleasant staff. Our problem was we don't speak Spanish so we probably made it harder for them to give us even better service. I highly recommend this hotel.

The biggest hotel in Sarria is always a good night's sleep before (or along the way of) the Camino Frances. The big rooms and even bigger bathrooms are always clean and well equipped. Hotel alfonso has a good location right on the camino route. Nice area, grocery store, pharmacy arround the corner were convenient. Rooms are ok..but the hotel is noisy ! The Alfonso IX is the biggest and best rated hotel in Sarria. It is the only one (as of 2012) with suites that can accommodate a family or groups of 4 or more. It is also the only one which is properly (with limitations) staffed 24 x 7. Other smaller hotels don’t actually have staff on duty after certain hours.... More
