In the incomporable region of Cap de Creus, located between the upper sea, the lower sea and the vineyard which grows exultantly caressed by the tramuntana wind, sits the Mas Perafita. Built in the 14th century and restored in 2004 by the family Martin Faixó, as part of the program to recover the vineyards of the Alt Empordà, the Mas Perafita houses the wine cellar where these singular wines, due to the particuliar character of this land, are elaborated.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I loved it there. Waking up in this peaceful countryside was amazing. I enjoyed every single moment there. An additional bonus is a winery where you can try and learn about their wines that are really good. Thank you for the tour and all the conversations about wine and football!

Signed off the road as a vineyard, hotel and restaurant, we thought it was worth stopping to explore. What a mistake. After waiting patiently and looking at the wines in the store while the proprietor dealt with other clients, our conversation went as follows. “Can we taste the wines?” “No, you have to have come at 11am and make a reservation.” “Can we get any food or tapas from the restaurant?” “No.” “Can we buy some wines?” “No, the shop is closed” “Can we do anything?” “No. Good day.” Maybe when you are so busy in August, you don’t need to be courteous or helpful to individual customers. But basic politeness costs nothing. And if you have a customer who speaks impeccable Spanish, it’s really quite rude and patronising to reply to them in English. Good customer service costs absolutely nothing and would have garnered a much better review. We would have been quite interested to come back another day but Dr. No put paid to that. So when you see the sign as you drive to or from Cadaques, keep going. There are plenty of other vineyards in the Empordà where the proprietors like to say ‘Si’.

I am beyond happy I found this place to stay while exploring Cadaques/Roses. This place is in the mountains, absolutely gorgeous views, and was the best stay of our entire trip in Spain. There are probably only 10-12 rooms so it is very quiet and intimate which made it very special. We stayed in the 2-level suit which was a great price. Rooms were clean, modern, and loved it. Every morning you are served a delicious and large breakfast that you can eat on the lawn that has an amazing view. The people are very nice and accommodating. We got a wine tour and tasting since we were staying there which was a great addition and I bought several wines. The young lady who works there and gave the tour was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. If I ever go back to Spain, I will have to stay at this place. Advice-the people who work at the hotel leave around 6/7pm (email them to confirm exact time) so when we took our time driving up and didn't know this, we felt bad that one of them had to drive to meet us so we could get our room key. So make sure you check in before 6pm!

We wish our stay at this small boutique hotel, located on the grounds of a winery, could have been longer! Rooms are spacious and lovely, with a loft containing a queen bed, and a large sofa opening to a queen sized bed on the main level. There is a small fridge stocked with complimentary water, soda, juice, and snacks. Breakfast, which is provided, included fresh orange juice, slices of hams, sausages, and cheese, croissants, and a warm bruschetta. We also did the excellent winery tour and tasting. I definitely recommend this accommodation if you have a car and are visiting Cadeques.

We stayed at Sa Perafita in August. The area is gorgeous, with amazing views over the mountains to the sea. The staff at the wine farm were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely, well appointed and clean. The wine tour was a nice thing to do, whilst staying there too. We loved everything about this lovely place, including a delicious breakfast, served in the lovely garden to the resident dog and the delicious wine! Can highly recommend a stay here.

Amazing, wonderful, perfect I don’t even know where to start. This hotel is perfect in every way. We had two spacious and elegant rooms for 10 nights and didn’t want to leave. From the fantastic, gourmet breakfasts, to the outstanding grounds and the ideal location, you will love this hotel. We certainly did. Hopefully there will be a pool as well in the future. Cadaques is an idyllic seaside town, wish we were still there!

Not only the wine is really good, but also the rooms, the breakfast, the hospitality and the beautiful views at night. We had a wonderful evening under the olivetrees with views over the moutains, the wineranks and the sea. The sunset was astonishing, especially with a bottle of the finest wine: Cadac from 2008. If you love wine, quiet atmosphere and great views: you should come here!

Had a lovely tour to the cellar and wine tasting with an expert. Vanessa is a professional sommelier which was a big bonus as she could explain us a lot about the wine so we knew what we were tasting. We didn't go the wine yards as they were far from the property, but we could admire the views from the top of the hill where the wine cellar and the hotel is located. Very recommended.

Cadaqués is such a touristic town that some people may think that nothing genuine can be found there... If you are one of those, you should stay here! The house is wonderful and, appart from cosy rooms, hides a cellar of exellent wines in its heart. Breakfasts served outdoors are an unforgettable experience!

We booked a room at this winery, expecting something that it was not. We had stayed in wineries before in Argentina and South Africa, so our mistake, we were expecting a similar experience from Sa Perafita. First of all, they don't serve food (except for breakfast). Second, they want you to check in 6 p.m. at the latest because the owner (he apparently has no extra personnel) has to then take off to work at his restaurant in downtown Cadaqués. We did not ver VERY FINE PRINT and therefore were not able to make it there before 18:00 hs. We had to look for different accommodation and did not get a refund. Very very disappointing.
