Had to do a little business, booked at this hotel. Walking distance at some very good restaurants. The Vinyard for lunch ($10) I chose an italian mediterranean dish, plenty to eat, a fresh salad with their house red vinigarette dressing, homeade garlic yeast rolls and topped off with your choice of cheesecake drizzled with chocolate or rasberry or an french... We stayed at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott for a long weekend. Our room was just wonderful; the bed super comfortable; the view fantastic; the staff quite pleasant. There were little bits of wear and tear in the public areas, but that does not really bother us. We really debated about dining in the hotel restaurant, but just did not find... More

The mark of a good hotel is how they deal with a problem. I had neighbors who would not quiet down and I asked the hotel to move me to another room. The desk clerk apologized, agreed to move me, and brought the new room key to me. I was upgraded to the concierge floor for my trouble. That's good... More

Traveled here on business and upon check in asked for an upgrade. They gave me a great corner room overlooking the water. The room was clean and quiet- exactly what I needed to work. I had great room service and ate in both the breakfast restaurant and Shula's and all had excellent service and good food. We used the conference... More

I called this Marriott on the off change they had two rooms at a government rate, with no notice and no reservation. The voice on the other end of the phone line was pleasant and helpful. Unless I had a hundred friends, they had rooms. We received two standard rooms, each with a king size bed. Large flat screen TV,... More

My husband and I are taking a road trip after Christmas and stopped in Norfolk. Having stayed at another Marriott hotel in Norfolk over the summer we decided to switch it up and stay in a new location. This hotel was great, the staff was very helpful and friendly and the value was terrific! Comfortable King sized bed and plenty... More

Stayed here 2 nights recently. Nice corner room on the 23rd floor with great views across the river to Portsmouth. Concierge lounge on 24th floor had a good breakfast. Kind of a maze from the parking garage. Have to go on elevator in garage, then walk hallway, down escalator then over to lobby. Parking can be expensive. That's my only... More

We were put at this hotel for business and I wasn't totally thrilled because I wasn't impressed when I stayed here years before. I was so pleasantly surprised! The valets were right there when pulling up and the lobby looked great decorated for the holidays. I was impressed when walking into my room, they have obviously been updating and when... More
