We stayed at the Montegonzi during the wine festival in September, 2011 and had a wonderful time. We arrived quite late, but there was a caretaker there who got us into our rooms and was very accomodating. The next day we met our hostess Monica who was delightful and invited us to a party at their sister property in Greve... More

After driving around for 2.5 hours with numerous peoples directions including the manager, we were still unable to find this place and decided on night fall to stay in Panzano which was beautiful!! The following day we found it, and yes the surrounding countryside is beautiful, but if you have a rented car you would need to take care getting... More

We stayed at Montegonzie Castle in September 2012 and although the surroundings are beautiful the accommodation is sub standard. The furniture, bedding and kitchen facilities are all in need of maintenance. The apartment we had had a broken toilet seat and a mattress that was uncomfortable and dirty – see my photos. The fridge was only just working no door... More

As many have already written - it's a quite tricky road the last final gravel part to Castello di Montegonzi. I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on driving a very low car. Normal cars are fine but I would avoid sportscar. This tip is because you have to have your own wheels if you plan on staying here. The... More

We had a family emergency come up that meant we had to cancel our reservation at Castello di montegonzi. Monica was brilliant. Not only understanding but moved heaven and earth to ensure we got a refund. Brilliant customer service. Can't wait to check out the place on our next trip.

I recently stayed here with friends in the Camino villa. It was so disappointing. The stove was broken, the furniture dirty and worn and there was worse to come! One of the beds collapsed and the double bedroom only had a spring base with two mattresses which were too small for the bases. When we complained we were not really... More

We loved this hotel and would definitely return there one day. It is a bit hard to get to, we got a bit lost and you do need to drive down a dirt road for about 5min to get to the hotel, however it is absolutely worth it! The rooms are very private and set on the tuscan hillside. The... More

Although a little tricky to find at first Montegonzi was a memorable part of our holiday. The road into the castle was fairly rough but added to the adventure of the experience. The proprietor was very helpful and arranged tours and a wonderful cooking class with a lovely young lady. Once we were familiar with the area we explored the... More

We spent a week at Castello Di Montegonzi at the start of October and we absolutely loved it. It is situated in the most beautiful location perched high on a hilltop overlooking the vineyards, olive groves and villas of the central Chianti region. It also overlooks the beautiful walled village of Montefioralli which is situated within walking distance of Montegonzi,... More

After some difficulty we find Saturday, 22.08.2009, after reading the directions, starting instead of running the approx. 3.5 km narrow gravel road. There should be a narrow dirt road / gravel road was more than that. The road was a small mountain road and show places, there was a significant risk to the car's chassis could be damaged by the...
