Close to campus, clean room, good linens. Friendly at the desk. But my guess is the building was built in the 50s or 60s, and is a bit worn-- sort of a motor lodge ambiance, if you will. Self serve breakfast buffet is adequate but not memorable. If you're not looking to spend much time in the room, it will... More

We booked this hotel on a last minute stay in Charlottesville. We got a great rate of $60 including tax and breakfast for two. The service at check in was nice. After getting to our room we realized this was a motel that has been closed in to now seem more like a hotel. The rooms have been updated as... More

I recently stayed one night at the Cavalier Inn, when I attended a concert at John Paul Jones Arena. It is convenient to the Arena, which was nice. Check in was smooth. The room was clean, however, there was some mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, but overall I didn't have a problem with the room. The beds were... More

Hello Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review for us, I am sorry that you felt the continental breakfast was not up to your standards, we are constantly changing items and brands on our breakfast bar, Waffles sticking might be nit enough of the spray was used, the irons are cleaned everyday so it has... My family and I stayed at the Cavalier Inn for five days this past week. The location at the University of Virginia is the reason we selected this property, and we were very pleased with the proximity of the hotel to the university. It is literally a five-minute walk to the Rotunda and a few more minutes to the Corner,... More

I stayed at this hotel because I had an interview at UVA medical center and the hotel offered shuttle service to/from airport as well as to the hospital. The hotel staff is very shifty about offering the shuttle service. They always preface the offering by saying that it's only available if someone is available to drive the shuttle. I decided... More

We stayed for two nights at the Cavalier Inn in December and were very pleased with the quality of the room: clean, nicely furnished, comfortable bedding, pleasant and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was adequate (bagels, toast, waffle-maker) but would benefit from more healthy food choices for those who are trying to avoid carb-centered diets (e.g., real fruit instead of... The Cavalier is right on the edge of the UVA campus. That being said, unless you are booking early during the weekend of a UVA home game, you will not be able to get in. We stayed here a couple of weeks ago and were very surprised at what we found. The establishment was very clean, the staff was great... More

The rooms were very clean and updated. They have everything you would need in a room. If your are looking for a place that is within walking distance to UVA campus this is the place. You are pretty much on campus when you walk out the door. You can safely walk to historic downtown Charlottsville but is a bit of... More

Very convenient to UVA, restaurants, grocery store, and nearby sightseeing (e.g., Monticello). Clean with attractive decor. I always check for bedbugs in hotels before unpacking, and did not see any evidence. The mattresses look new. Rooms on the University Avenue side have some traffic sounds in the morning despite a buffering hallway, but if you are ultra-sensitive to sound (like... More
