We made reservations for the weekend as we were attending a wedding. We were greeted by smiling faces when we arrived. The complimentary glass of wine was much appreciated which we had in the drawing room next to the restaurant. We were very fortunate to speak at length with the Executive Chef, Karl Bock. He is an extremely interesting person... More

We spent two nights here and will definitely return on our next visit to the area. The Inn is beautifully decorated and the staff is wonderfully attentive. The Stonewall Jackson room is large and very comfortable. If you get a chance, eat dinner downstairs. We had a marvelous pork tenderloin with collard greens; the mixture of flavors in this dish... Dont miss your chance to enjoy this historic and charming bed and breakfast. Elegant Decor made me feel like I was living in an episode of Downton Abbey. Innkeeper, Candance was very welcoming and staff like Sandy were super helpful and made us feel right at home. Within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops but tucked away on... More

We stayed here for one night. We had wanted something romantic to celebrate a birthday. What we got instead was comfortable, definitely beyond adequate, if not especially memorable. We stayed in a room in the 1920 House (Candice Collins?), which is, to be fair, one of their less expensive options. It had a double bed, which is fine for us,... More

Everything about this in must be described in superlatives. The rooms are gorgeous and elegant, the food is divine, the innkeeper is welcoming and generous--even the towels are amazingly fluffy. We spent the night in the Edward Butler room, a large king room with a double whirlpool tub and a fireplace. I was so impressed with the elegant decor, and... More

We needed a place to stay in downtown Charlottesville for a nearby concert. I had some expectations of a good experience based on other reviews. If I have any problem with those reviews it is in the fact they were understated. Every single staff person at the Inn made us feel very welcome and special. An unexpected room upgrade, friendly... My girlfriend and I spent a weekend here in January 2013. The inn is cozy, and while I would never decorate my place like this, I found the decor was in line with a lot of other places in Charlottesville (including Monticello). More importantly, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was excellent -- the food was... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night while attending a concert at the John Paul Jones arena, and we have full intentions of returning for a much longer stay! This is one of the nicest and well run B&B's we have had the pleasure of staying at. The staff was extremely friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable about the... More

I stayed here for 3 nights. Upon my arrival I was greeted by one of the many warm staff members, Sandy, who had a glass of wine ready for me. I sat out on their porch overlooking the square in quiet Charlottesville and was told I got "upgraded" to a suite. I had arranged for the Lily May $100/night room... More

June 29th 2012 we experienced a Derecho in Central Virginia- which knocked out power for over a week. Hotels in a 50 mile radius were booked solid. I did manage to get a reservation at the Inn at Court Square- a charming bed and breakfast in downtown Charlottesville. I had been there for lunch once, or I don't think I... More
