We stayed at Ten Acres Lodge for a few days for Christmas 2011; we wanted a back to basics, old fashioned Christmas....none of the hustle and bustle and commercialization. One of our best Christmas' ever!! We visit Stowe at least once a year, and this was our 3rd or 4th time staying at Ten Acres Lodge. The room was better... More

A+++ staff & a fantastic new Orleans style restaurant with a great chef that nails the seasoning of Cajun cooking spot on 4 stars. Frank & his wife Robin are awesome innkeepers that tend to every request that you could want or need & they provide that old time hospitality that cannot be found in the more modern hotels &... More

Important trip! Fall colors and my wife's 60th b'day. The lodging meant everything, and I planned for days. Ten Acres Lodge was exactly what I had in mind, a rustic "escape", and favorably priced. An 1836 farmhouse-based inn oozing with charm, every single room pretty and unique (we booked two for the family--check out the inn's photos.) incredibly well-located in... More

Thanks for the kind words. I remember you well and am glad we were able to make a memorable experience for your family. It also shows me that the steps we have taken in recent months to make for a better stay are paying off. Thanks again for visiting and also for being such fun guests! More

This was our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast and we really enjoyed it. Frank and Robin were gracious hosts and great to get to know and chat with. It was so much more personal than staying in a hotel. The aromas from the restaurant in the main house beg you to have dinner there! We did indeed have... More

My wife and I have stayed here three years in a row. This December will be our fourth. Frank is very polite, their restaurant Lagnippe is delicious, and I can attest to a previous review of their French Toast - absolutely the best I've ever had. We've always stayed in the Hill House. We use the hot tub each year... More

We stayed with a group of friends in October. Frank and the rest of the staff were very helpful and nice. They gave us plenty of information about the area and the attractions there. Unfortunately the place isn't really clean. The rooms were dusty, as were the windows in the dining room, which was a shame because the view through... More

I did extensive research before booking 10 Acres Lodge back in August for our stay in October. I spoke to Frank on the phone; told him we would be celebrating my birthday during our stay there and dining at Lagniappe on my actual birthday.... So first the positive: we were warmly welcomed by the staff and Frank when we arrived.... More

Thanks to this guest for valuable feedback. I have largely been on my own for most of the last 4 months because of a family illness and have found it difficult to keep up with everything. However, that is not meant as an excuse since some issues raised were due to housekeeping. That we have corrected. The building these folks... More

Old farmhouse converted into a lodge located up on a hill just outside of town. Rooms a bit worn but ok, clean. Some of the furniture looks like it was there when the place was built a century ago. No thermostat , only a portable heater was provided. Flat screen TV is a nice touch but no HD programming .... More

I would like to address some of the concerns here to add perspective. Being an old house (Built in 1836) the heating zones are limited and thermostats are located in some rooms. In an effort to add the our guests comfort, we provive a space heater since some people like it cool, others warm. There are at least 10 HD... More

This is not the Ritz. You might even call it a bit quirky. But comfortable would be our description. Room 10 was in the main house and looked exactly as pictured on the web site. The large room was very welcome and had an antique chest and table as well as a loveseat and king size bed. Only the bathroom... More

My husband and I were there in early August celebrating our anniversary. We found the place a true getaway place, loved the New Orleans cooking, nearby hikes and friendly hosts/owners and staff. It is convenient to Stowe's city center, where we've stayed in the past, but wanted a more quiet location this time. Our room on the first floor of... More
