Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This campground is by far the best camping my family and I have experienced. Friendly owners, and beautifully decorated for autumn. Campsites right on the Moose River with stunning views all around. We will be going back to stay longer next summer.

We stayed at Moose River Campground the weekend before Memorial Day weekend so that we could attend the New England Golden Jubilee at Dog Mountain. I'm so glad we made it a four-day weekend because our stay was wonderful! I only wish we had made it an entire week. This is a small campground that is very well maintained. The owners, Mary and Gary, go out of their way to make sure everyone's stay is enjoyable. From the friendly greeting we received by Mary upon arrival and check-in to the end of our visit when Gary saw us off after checking that our departure was trouble free - there is no doubt they take pride in their little piece of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. The campground is very pet friendly. We were accompanied by our two Golden Retrievers, who really enjoyed the large dog park. Because of the event at Dog Mountain, there were many Goldens in the campground over the weekend. Our site backed up to the Moose River. The site had a gravel pad for our fifth wheel with a nicely groomed grass lawn surrounding it. We sat outside listening to the sound of the stream and the birds singing. It was so quiet and peaceful. The only downside to our visit was that there was a statewide ban on burning due to dry weather, so we weren't able to have a campfire. We appreciate that this campground caters to adults and that the owners ensure everyone abides by the park rules. What a perfectly relaxing time we had! We will definitely visit again!

Great little park right on a gorgeous river. Sites that back up to it are level and full service. Has some nice pull through sites too. Owners are nice and accommodating. We visited a sugar shack and got local maple syrup, Ben and Jerry’s pre scheduled a factor tour. Owner gave us a bag with lots of local information she even have a “tour” mapped out you could do.

I really can't say enough good about Moose River Campground. The owners, Mary and Gary, are friendly and accommodating. When we checked in we were given a welcome bag with useful items and lists of things to do and places to see. It was very helpful. The grounds are immaculate and there are planting areas all around. It is right on the Moose River and very scenic. There are activities for the entire campground to participate in. We were there for four nights and during that time there was a potluck where they provided hamburgers and hotdogs, Bingo, Corn Hole Competition, Ice cream social where they actually come around in a golf cart to each space and knock on your door and 2 HUGE bonfires, one with a country singer for entertainment. The owners are very social and encourage conversation on their large porch by enticing guests with coffee and donuts in the morning. They are very hard workers. They recognize their staff for their good work too. We will probably never be in this area with our RV again. But if we are we will definitely consider staying here again. No doubts. One last word. It is very quiet at night. There is no road noise and although you can see railroad tracks in pictures, there is not an active railroad in the area that we were ever aware of. If there is one small point that I can make that isn't as positive as the rest of the review, it would be that they do use sand in their spaces instead of gravel and it does make for a lot of sweeping and dust busting of the inside of the RV. But it's worth it!

Traveled from CT, as my best friends son was getting married. We were in need of a place to stay and Moose river was only 15 mins from the wedding venue. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. We have a seasonal site in CT and don't travel with our 5th wheel, so we rented one of their RVs. It's an older model, but everything worked and it was right on the river. The owners and all of their crew were extremely friendly and helpful. We spent a good amount of time in the office chatting with them. Our only complaint is that because we were there for the wedding we didn't get to spend much time at camp. We would definitely stay again!

Nice little campground. We had pull through site. Very quiet, rustic and on moose river. Very scenic. No issues. 50 amp service full hookups. Accommodated our 36’ class A just fine. Owners are very nice and helpful. Gave a nice handout with very useful information. Would definitely stay again if in the area

We loved this campground. Our site was right along the Moose River. Quiet, peaceful. Just the sounds of the water rolling over the rocks. We sat out by the water, had a nice fire going and just listened to mother nature. The entire park was clean and so nicely decorated. Hosts Mary and Gary were so friendly. They opened their porch every morning for conversation, coffee and donuts if you liked. They were very helpful and accommodating. The dog park was recently enlarged for bigger dogs. The campground is close to Dog Mountain which is a beautiful attraction to take your pet. There's a dog chapel and plenty of open space for them to run. I would also recommend the Mooselook Diner for the food and great water view. Rileys Fish Shack is also right down the road with excellent, large seafood meals. We will definitely return to Moose River Campground when in the area.

The campground is immaculate and decorated with care. We loved having the river right behind us and sat out there for hours listening to it. It was very relaxing. Rules are enforced, and there are a lot of them, which isn’t a problem for us. However, if your pup is a barker, this is not the place for you. Barking dogs are not tolerated at all. And If you leave your dog in the camper while you go out, they WILL call you to complain about it. So, if your dog isn’t a noisy one, or you don’t have a dog, this is a very nice and clean campground to visit. Get a site on the water and you will not be disappointed. It’s not deep, but the sound of the water running through is fabulous.

The campground is relatively small (about 40 sites) and caters to adults and dogs. This is wonderful. Hosts Mary and Gary took time to personally meet each of us on several occasions. We were provided with a welcome bag that included information for the area and activities available at the campground. Activities at the campground included free ice cream brought to our camper, 2 very good singers for evening entertainment, a HUGE bonfire that lots of people came to. There was also a nice pot luck dinner that they provided the ham for and we all brought a dish to share. They encouraged us to sit with strangers and we met some fun couples. The sites are a bit close together for my liking, but all the hookups were in good working order, including cable. There were many sites right on the river and the ducks were swimming and it made for some perfect camping atmosphere. I highly recommend this campground and we are looking forward to returning next year.

Moose River Campground is a small, quiet RV Park right on the beautiful Moose River. The Park is immaculately maintained with nicely spaced sites and friendly ,welcoming owners and staff. Our site was a huge pull through full service 50 AMP site with plenty of room for our 5th Wheel and truck. There is beautiful grass and lovely flowers everywhere. There is a nice grassy Dog Park where my dog and I played Fetch nearly every day. One day there was a big muddy hole where someone's dog had been digging. The next day the hole was nicely filled, no more mud! The owners and staff pay attention to every tiny detail of maintenance and it shows. The area is delightful with a myriad of Rail Trails for biking and hiking. We will definitely return to this RV Park. Highly recommended!
