Look at my other reviews. Honey, I've been laid in more Hill Country hotels than Gideon bibles... (Awwwww, snap!) And this one actually made me *feel* like I was going to a seedy motel! Y'know, in a good way. This place is probably all original and hasn't had a good facelift in ages. But that's one of the things that... More

This motel so reminded me of traveling with my parents and staying in the nicer motels of the late 1940s and 1950s. The room a little larger than what we see in today's hotel/motel properties, the room heating comes from coil type electric heaters, there's a friendly greeting at the front desk, the parking lot and the type of building... Stayed 4 nights and were very pleased. An older facility (probably 50s or 60s) but very well maintained, clean, and neat. Out on the edge of town, so less traffic and quiet. It's a 'live-in' motel, so the folks who run it actually live there 24-7 and are very nice. Only quibble - no tub - just a shower. Maybe... More

It's not a chain, not new but has character and the owners are very friendly and helpful. It's the only place we stay when we go to Fredericksburg. More

This is one of the best motels we have stayed at. We like mom and pop places and this is a good one. The owners, Andy and Trudi, were the greatest hosts. They were friendly and the type of people you can sit around and chew the fat with. They were very helpful in suggesting places to eat, see and... More

I agree with the others that this hotel was clean. I unfortunately don't agree that it was such a great value. It is old and that is not an issue. The owners have not tried to make it cozy or quaint. Just old. The carpet is new. The flat screen is the smallest I have ever seen. I didn't know... More

A nostalgic place to stay for those who remember the days of driving up to your motel room door. It has none of the unnecessary extras that drive up the cost of a night's stay. If asked, the office does provide a coffee maker with coffee, sugar, cream, etc., provided. We had a very comfortable stay and plan to stay... More

This place is nothing fancy, but it is clean and quiet. Nice rooms with a large picture window with a view of the field behind the motel. Old TV, nice bath room, plenty of storage/set-up area. Too far to easily walk into town, but not bad. We'll stay here again! More

For a place to sleep after touring the sites of the Texas Hill Country and regional wineries this is a great choice. The rooms may not be brand new, but everything is exceptionally clean. Friendly and accommodating staff. More
