We stayed in the hotel on Saturday 16th March. At first glance it looked classy and I was looking forward to stepping inside. Found the check in process quite archaic and service was just average. We had a very large room which was clean and tidy however not really charming. Bathroom was ultra modern which was great but seemed so... More

OMG - i wish we had read trip advisor before we booked this hell hole, masquerading as a hotel. Old world charm they said, well how far back do you want to go. Our first impressions of Mr Fawlty / proprietor was that he had come back from the grave or was not far from it. Telephones were invented in... More

Because I really loved the "feel" and atmosphere of this building, I rated it 2 (poor) but I know my wife would have been looking for an even lover rating than "terrible"... The fact that we stayed at this hotel during a spell of unusually hot weather only went to highlight the poor standard of the rooms, especially at $249!... More

If you want a minimalist, plastic and glass hotel, to stay in, do not stay at the Queenscliff Hotel. If you want a comfortable place to stay, that is quite, close to local attractions and has a lovely restaurant, then the Queenscliff Hotel is for you. The floor squeaks, in some parts the carpet is thread bear, but for a... More

Firstly, do not make the mistake we made by even considering booking a stay at this poor excuse for a hotel. Admitedly, the building is rather grand and has a very imposing period reception, but that's where its' glamour ends. We have travelled the world and have never felt so let down by a hotel. The photographs create an impression... More

It's one thing to sleep on an antique bed, it's another to sleep using (foul) antique bedding. Pillows need a major refresh (they were yellow and omitting a strange odour). And while it is nice to sleep in an old house and relish in such a beautiful, almost forgotten era, it doesn't work so well when the beds are broken... More

Yes, it's a Grand Old Lady, and a wonderful reminder of another era, but after arriving on a 40'c day and finding there was no air con in the bedrooms, I really decided I was over the experience - the one reason I would be unable to rate the hotel more than Average. No television in the room wasn't an... More

We had a great time at the Queenscliff hotel. It is an old building with all the modernity of the early 20th century. If you expect the modernity of the 21st century, you will not like it. This place has no internet, no television, no A/C and not even a fridge in the room but it is a great old... More
