I ordered a chicken parma from the bar menu which was around $20, it was dry and tasteless. My husband ordered the beef burger $18 and the bun on top was burnt. The atmosphere was quite nice and the service was excellent but overall the experience was underwhelming.

Rooms are basically good quality motel rooms - say 4star. Comfortable, good facilities etc. Great view of Mt Sturgeon etc. But most importantly it is close to the Royal Mail restaurant which is great. The bush walks along the creek towards their other property are terrific as well - lots of roos on dusk.

We stayed at the Stables, a 2 bed cottage. The historic buildings on the huge property just out of Dunkeld are simply beautiful and very special for their history, even tho they would not be classified as five star or luxury. The main attraction here of course is the food, but fortunately it's backed up by comfortable, clean rooms with good amenities. Both times I have stayed in a garden room.
