My wife and I stayed for four days and we found the hotel to be very comfortable and Sue,Alan and all the staff are very professional and friendly. The highlight of our stay was not only the friendliness but the exceptional standard and quality of the food. Over the four days we found it to be very consistent and extremely... More

The Elm Tree is our favourite restaurant. My wife and I and our close friends always look forward to lunch there and we visit as often as we can. We are very impressed with the new owners Sue and Alan who will go out of their way to welcome you. They have very high standards and are most anxious to... More

Well this restaurant is a hidden gem, the outside looks like a pub but the offerings are as far from pub fare as you could get! We were staying at West Usk Lighthouse just down the way (very recommended) and were told that The Inn at The Elm Tree had delicious meals and Frank was right. My boyfriend had the... More

The Inn at the Elm is a Hotel / B&B in one with an outstanding Restasuranr with two exceptional chefs. The rooms and staff make it feel like a home from home. Alan and Sue are excellent hosts, with Alan's breakfasts and his poached egg to die for. Sue and her staff make each evening a delight and special.

Booked a table for 7pm as a surprise for my partners birthday as we were staying in the West Usk Lighthouse just up the road (also highly recommended). As it was mid week the restaurant was quiet so we had a lovely cosy table which was perfect, Music played in the background giving a lovely intimate relaxed atmosphere. The service... More

One of the nicest dining experiences we have had for a long time, all the better for being completely unplanned. Returning from a visit to the Newport Wetlands we opted to travel home to the Vale of Glamorgan via the coastal road, a route we had not been on for many years. Stopping for lunch at the Elm Tree we... More

I took my parents out for a meal and was unsure where to go, I wanted to take them somewhere other than just a 'chain' restaurant. I looked online where to go and it brought me to reviews on Trip Advisor. I was so pleased that we decided to go there as the food was really out of this world... More

I stayed at the Elm Tree in February and March while I was working in Newport. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. The desk in the rooms and the free WiFi allowed me to work from the Inn when I had to. The restaurant offers a nice menu and there are "Day Specials" on a chalkboard. Being French,... More

My wife and I ( mr and mrs Butterflies) stumbled across this little gem. From the outside you are greeted by this well looked after stylish looking inn. We only wanted a drink but once inside and seeing the warm atmosphere and friendly staff we were drawn into ordering from a fantastic choice on the menu at good prices. Our... More
