We came across this gem while on a trip to north Wales to climb Snowdon. Needless to say it was the little piece of luxury we needed after braving the ice cold, wet conditions of the mountains! The lillies on display at reception were an amazing sight - I suppose I'm biased as they're my favourite flower, but their perfume... More

We have stayed in many of the cottages in Portmeirion but this time we opted for Castell Deudraeth. The room was a Grand Double. It overlooked the car park with beautiful view of the snow capped mountains. The room was very large, light and airy with underfloor heating. There was also a coal effect fire if needed. There is no... More

What can I say about Castell Deudraeth? Staying in this unique and fabulous hotel certainly makes you feel special. We stayed in a Grand Double and the room was huge with amazingly comfortable bed, two sofas, big tv, kitchenette, and beautiful bathroom. The three shuttered windows overlooked the fields where sheep were quietly grazing, and bathrobes and slippers were provided.... More

We stayed in the Castell when we visited Portmeirion and it was super-special. We stayed in one of the Castell Grand Rooms - No. 8 - and it felt spacious and luxurious. We felt very spoilt here! The staff were very good also. We would definitely stay again. We also found that, although the package seems expensive, once you take... More

This is one of the best hotels if not the best I have stayed in throughout the world. You will find grander hotels you will find finer hotels but for real comfort and feel good this place is hard to beat. The previous reviews are a very fair description of the hotel complex I will only therefore pass on our... More

This was our second stay at Portmeirion. I was so impressed on the first visit that I decided to take my In-laws there. The setting and rooms were as expected excellent and most of the staff went out of their way to make us welcome. The afternoon tea was as good as I have experienced anywhere in the world but... More

Second visit to Castell Deudraeth, staying in one of the grand rooms, which are enormous with blissfully comfortable beds. Loved the big log fire in the lounge, lit even at breakfast. Food in the castle is excellent but for something extra special try dinner down in the hotel in the village which is more adventurous. Like the way you can move... More

Stayed at the Castell over Easter. Really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it. It is set in a lovely area (and I bet it is even better in the summer) The room was large and well appointed. Car park had plenty of spaces and they had a mini bus to take you up and down to the village. The... More

We visited Castell Deudrath in February 2013. We upgraded a deal to get a suite room in the Castell. The suite (3) was very well appointed, with a separate lounge and small kitchenette type area. The bedroom ensuite had a spa bath and the lounge area had a gas flame fire. The furnishings were smart and cosy and we were... More
