Arrived exhausted after 12 hours walking from Balmaha. Reception experience was good and we chose to eat and drink straightaway. There did not seem to be any urgency in serving us or ordering a drink which was a shame and there seemed to be a lot of new staff training. The food in general was ok but nothing special just... This was such a great place after a hard day's walk. We did have a warm welcome; and then to discover the (I suspect rather contrived) shabby chic of the bedrooms was just fun. The beautiful inviting whiteness of the bedlinen on the four poster bed, the immaculate towels and the rather smart bathroom complemented wonderfully the old-fashioned furniture. Good... More

This was our second stop on the West Highland Way. I have been coming to The Drovers for many years and have always enjoyed my stays, so to stay here on a Friday night was and introduce my son to the unique atmosphere was a must. We arrived soaking through and extremely tired after a veryhard and very wet walk... More

The review for this hotel-on our 3rd day walking the WHW would have been excellent if it wasn't for an incident as we arrived. We had walked for 14 miles along the very pretty but quite challenging shore of Loch Lomond and were looking forward to settling in for the night. When we reached the reception the girl was working... More

We were booked to stay at the Drovers Inn but found we were actually across the road at the Drovers Lodge. No atmosphere there! Wouldn't stay there in summer as you couldn't open the windows for air due to the midges and it would be very hot and stuffy. Feel we were misled. If you were lucky enough to get... More

We were told by some friends we made in Inverness that we had to take a detour on our drive back to Edinburgh. So glad we did the food and atmosphere were wonderful. We are planning to come back to Scotland again and stay here for a few days to explore. The haggis was the best hands down of all... More

Although I haven't stayed at the hotel the restaurant is magnificent! I have been to the drovers several times and each time has been better than last, the staff are so friendly and the food is delicious, on a sunny day you cant beat sitting by Loch Lomond with a nice cold beverage. I love the rustic theme and the... More

We stayed overnight after a days walking from Balmaha. It's basic accommodation but still welcome after a long slog! We stayed in the lodge across the road. Although it had a four poster bed it lacked any character and needed updating - the room was adequate for our needs overnight. We ate in the Drovers at night - good pub... More

Just back from another amazing weekend at The Drovers, excellent scenery, great food and fab atmosphere. Yes the rooms and toilets are not perfect but the Drovers Inn is a 300 year old building with character and history. A Saturday night here gives a real traditional Scottish feel with a live band where everyone gets involved and has a great... More

The owner of our B & B recommended we eat here and it didn't disappoint. Lovely old pub with two roaring fires at either end and the food was very good. Staff were great and we had a very enjoyable evening. We had lunch there a couple of days later on our way back down from Loch Ness and again... More
