My wife and I stayed for one night in early September after having arrived by ferry from North Uist. The B&B is located a short taxi ride uphill from the ferry terminal. There is a scenic view of Loch Dunvegan from the front of this guest house. We were warmly greeted by our hosts. Joan Ballans went out of her... More

Joan and Jeff are perfect hosts. Everything was just right. The breakfast Cranachan was delicious. We had a long chat with Jeff who was full of useful information about the local area and its history. We fully intend to visit again and stay longer !

We chose this excellent B & B on our daughter's recommendation and were not diaappointed. Uig was chosen due to the ferry route to Harris which we used three days later. Uig is excellently situated for exploring the north of Skye and further afield, Joan's breakfasts have to be seen (and eaten) to be believed. Twelve out of 10 for... More

Really comfortable room with good quality extras - fresh milk for our tea, and lovely toiletries - all these things make such a difference. We only stayed 1 night before catching the ferry to Harris, but would definitely return if visiting Skye again. Excellent breakfast - lovely Scottish cheese and oak cakes - and wonderful home made bread, the smell... More

Despite arriving late in the night, we were warmly welcomed by our hosts and offered a hot drink on arrival. They even put hot water bottles in the beds for our two small children. Our rooms (double and twin) were warm and cosy, with everything we needed. (Lovely to have a small fridge with fresh milk). Plenty of tea, coffee,... More

No complaints, the welcome, the rooms, the service and the breakfast are beyond reproach. Excellent and well worth the visit - who cares for biscuits, another reviewer's reason to mark down!

Joan and Geoff made us extremely welcome in their beautiful home. The welcome and care was such that we felt like family and not guests from the moment we arrived. Our room on the top floor was a little small but extremely well equipped (fridge, good wi-fi etc etc) It was warm and spotlessly clean and the view was amazing.... More

Great reception after a three hour drive up Scotland to our B & B for the night before catching the ferry first thing in the morning to Tarbert. Shown to a lovely room at the front of the house, over looking the water. Everything we could think of, even a quiet fridge. Lovely and clean and homely. Breakfast the following... More

We stayed 2 nights with Geoff and Joan at Lauel Bank and it was wonderful. They are a most warm and caring couple and treated us like family. The room was more than comfortable and the breakfast was yummy. Little extras like homemade jams, cheeses and oatcakes. Geoff gave some great suggestions about our tour of Skye and we saw... More
