This is a super hotel. It is quirky and full of character. It even has a ghost and finding ones way around can be interesting! We stayed for a week and enjoyed every day. The staff are first rate - friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The bedrooms may be on the cosy side but they are spotless and the drawing room... More

OK an unfair title. We booked the hotel in January after searching the web and with previous knowledge of Shetland hotels, it looked fantastic sheltered in it own bay on Busta Voe. When we arrived it was terrible, surrounded by scaffolding and a huge skip in the car park, not good. Our room was tiny despite being billed as a... More

Lovely old building and grounds. Peaceful. Excellent staff and nice food in bar at sensible cost. There are not that many good options out of Lerwick, so Busta is both welcome and well positioned. Our favourite location of four during our 9 day Scottish tour to Shetland, Orkney and Edinburgh.

I stayed here for one night due to fog at Scatsta airport. Excellent hotel a short distance from the town of Brae. The food was good and plenty of it. The friendly staff and superb location made it a very pleasant stay. Take a walk to the loch side early in the morning, it was the most tranquil moment I... More

Don't stay here if you like the bland and unimaginitive, save it for those of us who like charm, character and quirkiness. Our party stayed in Yell and Muckle Roe and would recommend these two rooms. Make sure you have a big appetite, the portions are huge and the food is very good. If you want to make the most... More

We ate here twice. The welcome from the staff on both occasions was excellent, everyone without exception was friendly, smiling all the time and chatty. We ate in the lounge bar and it was always busy. The menu is extensive and very reasonably priced. I had local scallops one evening and they were delicious and beef pie the second, again... More

Have stayed here a couple of times and eaten here quite often. The rooms are very clean and well equipped - massive beds, which are extremely comfy. It's a very old building, so quite quirky and full of charm - have managed to get lost in the corridors! No sign of the ghost so far... Food has always been to... More

We stayed here after the wonderful Scalloway hotel, having taken the scenic coastline route on our bikes. We had a well earned rest day here and were warmly looked after. We had the Muckle Roe suite which was very large and comfortable with a lovely view of the garden and harbour. Our first evening we opted for the four course... More

I stayed here a few years ago whilst working in The Shetlands and have wanted to come back with my wife ever since. We stayed for 2 nights over the May Bank Holiday and had a lovely time. I got the last available room which was a bit small but comfortable. We ate in the bar one night and in... More

We visited for one night for our wedding anniversary for dinner, bed and breakfast. The room was fine, nice view. Dinner and service was excellent, great hosts and really excellent value for money. Lovely location to visit
