We enjoyed Mackays the last time we were in Durness 10 years ago. This time we were totally disappointed. Pretentious, overpriced, and understaffed. And the food--we both had pork--was dry and under-seasoned. Do yourself a favor and have some fresh haddock from Sango Sands Pub instead.

A fabulous small hotel. Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Very good sized room, well appointed and comfortable. Great 9 hole Golf course nearby, well worth the visit with it's beautiful views. Eating was a pleasure at this hotel. Highly recommended.
