Our visit to Brixham and The Smugglers Haunt was part of a romantic christmas tour to Devon and it was indeed a quirky little place to stay. We had our little dog with us and she was allowed in the room and the bar which was a nice touch. Although pretty much empty of guests due to the time of... More

Many years ago as a young child I visited with my parents. We decided to start this christmas with a trip down memory lane, what a treat. Jean and John are perfect hosts and the hotel mixes old world charm with modern convienience. The rooms are beautiful and the food superb. We would not hesitate to advise anyone to try... More

Room is all you need and breakfast does the job, steak lovers will enjoy the restaurant and as you would expect there is plenty of fresh fish on offer (looked nice but i am a steak lover!). We stayed on a B&B basis. The owners were polite and helpful, the room was very clean, comfortable and functional, as was the en-suite. The breakfast was excellent and the staff brilliant. The bar area was full of real character and the beer first class. We would thoroughly recommend. More

Stayed for one night bed and breakfast in this 300 year old hotel/restaurant. The rooms were basic but spotlessly clean and prices very reasonable. The breakfast was absolutely lovely - all home cooked. Nice touch by adding toiletries in basket in bathroom. New flat screen tv. Bed was very comfy. Would recommend to anyone wanting a fairly priced b&b by... More

Myself, my husband and our dog Boris paid a visit to the Smugglers restaurant whilst on holiday on Brixham for a week. We enjoyed it that much we went back. We didn't stay at the hotel so cannot comment on the accommodation. Our visit was solely for the food. We got talking to a couple whilst in the pub one... More

Stayed for two nights with friends in this very friendly pub/restaurant with rooms on the upper floors. Not a place for the handlicap and frail - the stairs are very steep, but add to the atmosphere. Nice rooms with all necessary amenities, but as other reviewers have mentioned - a little redocoration would do no harm, but on the other... More

myself and a bunch of friends stayed at the Smugglers while on a walking holiday. We had three rooms which were very clean and tidy. The bathrooms were quite modern and well presented. The breakfast was good but the restaurant is very outdated and needs bringing up to modern standards. hotel is generally a bit tired looking and in need... More

We stayed here when visiting friends nearby, the owners are charming and very helpful. The place was full of character but looked in need of a good clean. We ate in and had a great evening meal, and the breakfast in the morning was perfect. A good nights sleep with plenty of hot water in the shower. More

Reception on arrival not at all welcoming - rooms & general decor poor but were clean. Breakfast limited choice & not well prepared with weak coffee. Waitress serving was very attentive. Never will return. More
