After the long flight from Los Angeles to Dublin, this fine lodge in the Wicklows provided a comfortable and relaxing retreat to recover and begin our travels through the Emerald Isle. With the breakfast/restaurant down the road towards Glendalough, we could not just walk out of our room for our morning meal. The staff at the lodging was not as... More

We stayed here with friends last fall. Comfortable rooms and very clean. We stayed at the lodge just down the road from the breakfast / restaurant section of the B & B. 5 minutes from Glendalough. Young woman who lives and works at the lodge was a gem. Betty the proprietress was great. One of our party was ill and... More

What a wonderful 2 night stay we had at this B&B. Erica is lovely and made us feel very welcome from the minute we got there. She is such a great character and she really added to the enjoyment of the stay. She really couldn’t do enough for us. I was also more than impressed with the lifts to the... More

We sadly only got to enjoy one night with this wonderful establishment. Everyone was just so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. When we arrived to their restaurant in town, "The Wicklow Heather", one of the lovely staff drove us to the b&b to make sure we didn't get lost. We were happily greeted by Erica and... More

What a start to our holiday! We had a lovely two night stay here. Our room was great, amazing views, very clean & comfortable. Erika was very welcoming & nothing was too much trouble, an amazing host. Breakfast was at the restaurant in the village owned by the b&b, which was really good. There is a free shuttle from the... We stayed here on our first night in Ireland. We stayed to be close to Powerscourt Gardens, Mt. Usher Gardens and Glendalough. The area around the Inn is beautiful, in the Wicklow Mountains. The innkeeper, Erica was very kind, and loaned us a few dvds to watch in our room. Our room overlooked the front gardens and the view across... More

We stayed at Trooperstown Lodge for 2 nights in August 2011. It is a truly excellent B&B. The garden and the view are very nice. The hostess (from Hungary) was very kind, and helpful. The room was quiet, comfortable and ample. The bathroom was also comfortable and very clean. They have two very nice living rooms for reading, watching TV... More

A first class B&B run in conjunction with Wicklow Heather Restaurant. Very comfortable, clean , modern B&B, although style is a little old fashioned, Very welcoming hostess - nothing was too much trouble. They arranged a free taxi transfer in the evening to/from the restaurant, which is approx 0.5mile away, . Breakfast is also taken in the restaurant and taxi... More

We stayed one night. First glance, we were put off a bit - looks like an oversized US suburban ranch home inside and out, and several miles away from the sites in Glendalough with nothing else around. We came to like it once settled in and would definitely stay again. Very friendly hostess, got us in and up to speed... More

The Trooperstown Wood Lodge is the perfect place to stay when visiting Wicklow National Park and the surrounding area. The Wicklow Heather Restaurant is wonderful ... traditional dishes with a flair and a book room with some first edition prints of some beloved Irish writers. The Trooperstown offers a free taxi service between the hotel and bar (about a mile... More
