We enjoyed 3 nights here very much. We spent the days motoring around the countryside and visited family in the area. Many things to easily see in the close proximity. Take a drive to Tipperary (see the Swiss Cottage and Cahir Castle). Drive to see the Vee, among miles of countryside with sheep grazing everywhere. See a local monistery, Lismore... More

We were returning from a day trip to St. Declan's foundation in Ardmore, ravenous and too late for the evening meal at Mount Melleray Abbey. We actually drove past the hotel and determined that we weren't dressed for it, then asked a young woman... More

Had a wonderful meal with my wife on a recent visit . Chose from a four course menu for 53 euro and was very impressed by the standard of the food and warmth of service. Also had good advice on a bottle of wine when our first choice was not available. Looks like a lovely plave to stay also though... More

We were here for the weekend - we were lucky to have fantastic weather. We loved the house - old style, but not intimidatingly grand. But the highlight were the meals - lovely breakfasts, and beautifully presented, tasty food. Great vegetarian menu, with more options than we're used to for veggies! On the second night the restaurant was quiet, and... More

We were a group of about 40 people who had lunch at Richmond House recently. The food and service were excellent. We had soup as a starter and a choice of three dishes, salmon, chicken or lamb, Dessert and tea/coffee - all delicious. This historic country house has a wonderfully old world feel to it and is in a lovely... More

We have stayed many times at the Richmond over the years. Paul and Claire treat us like family and are always kind, helpful and gracious. The food and setting is superb (try the duck spring rolls and local apple juice). The rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotless and the staff is very friendly. One time, when we arrived at the...
