We just came back from our grand tour of Ireland, and lovely Ballyogan House was one of the prettiest and most peaceful places we stayed. And it was at the ABSOLUTE top for smart, thoughtful, and quietly professional hosts and food. Everything was perfect, from the much-needed refreshing tea upon our arrival, to the helpful tips and references for jaunts... More

We stayed two nights at Ballyogan House, were very happy with everything and really enjoyed our stay. Fran and Robert were friendly and helpful, fed us very well, loaned us maps and gave us lots of local hints. This B&B is in a lovely quiet spot, but with plenty of interesting places to explore in the local area. We had... More

This review is a tad late.... our stay was in September 2009.... One of the locations for our two week tour of southern Ireland included staying in or near Kilkenny for three nights... we read reviews of other B&Bs in and around Kilkenny, but kept coming back to Ballyogan... so we bit the bullet and booked in with Fran and... We stayed at Ballyogan House over Easter 2009 - spent two relaxing nights and arranged to have Easter Dinner with the family. It was a memorable holiday. Beautiful house, with lovely and well-tended grounds. Good breakfasts, with the very freshest food. We explored the town of Graiguenamanaugh (charming) and took a long Easter morning walk on the tow path along... More

I stayed several days at the wonderful Ballyogan House. Robert and Fran were perfect hosts who couldn't have been more accommodating. The grounds are amazing and the view breathtaking. The delightful bedroom was spacious, quiet and private and oh... those fabulous bed linens! A great nights sleep followed by delicious breakfasts. And I do mean delicious! Perfect coffee, fresh squeezed... More

I highly recommend the Ballyogan B&B. We stayed here for one lovely night in October. My Husband and I had driven from Dublin with his parents taking the long leisurely route arriving around 7 pm tired and hungry. Fran our hostess welcomed us warmly and after hearing we were only going to have shop bought sandwiches for dinner, offered us... More

This is a beautiful country home in lush Irish countryside, near the charming town of Graiguenamanagh which has a lovely walk along the river Barrow with lots of boats moored on the quay. We were welcomed with tea and homemade lemon cake in the conservatory, yummy! Our room, the Bluebell room was delightful with views over the garden, the ensuite... More

This is a wonderful peaceful country house bed and breakfast just minutes drive from Graiguenamanagh, a lovely town on the banks of the river Barrow just 10-15 miles outside Kilkenny. Fran and Robert are the owners who are extremely welcoming and hospitable. The Bluebell room that I stayed in has a wonderful view of the garden packed full of plants.... More

I have stayed at many B&Bs in Ireland, and Ballyogan is head and shoulders above the rest. You could not ask for a more peaceful, tranquil, beautiful setting nestled among the mountains along the banks of the Barrow river. We stayed in the Bluebell room which had lovely views of the garden and the most comfortable beds, as well as... More

We spent a marvellous couple of nights as guests at Ballyogan House (a beautiful spot on the river) at the end of this October, and we can honestly say that no accommodations were more comfortable nor welcome more gracious than that we received from the Duries. They are the owners of Ballyogan, and during our recent trip we spent time... More
