Stayed in a herb garden suit while attending a wedding in Borris. Meet Brian the owner who is friendly and good for a chat. He even gave us a lift into the town to attend the reception. The breakfast was gorgeous and the whole experience of the B&B was amazing.

Had dinner in the summer in this lovely country house. The 5 course dinner menu was utterly delicious and we found the room and the entire place to be the most relaxing and soothing place we've ever been. The owners are doing their very best to ensure everything runs smoothly, yet are never intrusive. Modern cuisine, classics revisited, interesting fusion... More

Kilgarney house is situated on its own 5 acres in a beautiful location outside Bagnelstown Co Carlow. The accomodation, food (particularly the excellent breakfast), gardens and above all the welcome from Brian and Martin could not be better. We will certainly be back as soon as we have the opportunity for another relaxing weekend.

This hotel is geared up to relax its guests. It is a pleasure to be greeted by the owner in the drive on arrival and we were made most welcome with tea. The room was relaxing and comfortable. The gardens are a delight to walk around, with some interesting facts on the herbs and plants growing there. We did not... More

Stayed for one night which included dinner. I have stayed in several places of a similar price band in the country and felt completely cheated of a good experience. On a positive note, the rooms were very comfortable and beautifully decorated . Unfortunately , this did not compensate for the complete lack of hospitality from the patrons. Particulary, the waiter... More

Just a fabulous place. Amazing decor - the house is a treasure trove but all done with class and panache. The gardens are that wonderful combination of carefully tended but not to the point of precision - they're wild in all the ways they should be but also imaginative and interesting. The hosts are discreet but welcoming and casually professional.... More

Went to Kilgraney House for August weekend and really enjoyed it. We stayed in the Frangipani suite and it was very interesting and unusual everything in the room was interesting. The dinner there is one of the best you will find and served in a most relaxing manner al 7 courses. The breakfast was also most enjoyable. The gardens are... More

This was our 5th stay in Kilgraney. We stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, it was so relaxing and we really enjoyed walking around the lovely gardens and seeing the huge selection of herbs in the herb garden. The sun shone(for once) and it was very hard to pack the bags and head back to Dublin. You could sit... More

What a weekend, I think I just ate all weekend! 7 course dinner and 5 course breakfast and all for a steal of a price. A lovely oasis of calm, tucked away just outside bagnelstown in Carlow. We went on a girly weekend and stayed in two lodges outside the main house. Perfect! G and t's in front of an... More

We stayed here overnight last weekend, it was a spur of the moment thing, but an excellent choice as it turns out. I usually rely on the standard of places contained in Ireland's Blue Book so hadn't read any of the reviews on here prior to heading down. I'd certainly agree with all the positive comments here, and am a... More
