Official Description (provided by the hotel):: The Governor's Inn is located in Pierre, the state capital of South Dakota. We provide a deluxe complimentary breakfast that features Belgium waffles and biscuits and gravy. Free internet and all rooms have refrigerator and microwave. We are on Hwys 34-83-14 close to several restaurants and fast food places. One block from the Missouri river and boat access, Pierre's convention center and 52 miles of walking and biking trails. You will find some of the best Walleye fishing, Canada Goose hunting and Pheasant hunting in the world right here. We remodeled in 2005 and 2010 and continue to make improvements and changes to accommodate our guests. Amenities: Every room has King or queen size bed with refrigerator, microwave, hairdryer, AC, TV, voice mail, free hardwired and wireless internet, coffee makers, irons with boards. We also have several rooms with drive up entrances. Our deluxe continental breakfast consists of Belgian waffles and biscuits and gravy along with several other items and drinks. We have an indoor heated pool and hot tub, guest laundry, exercise room, patio area, business center and several longer parking spaces for boats and trailers. Attractions: We are close to several area attractions including the State Capital, Fighting Stallions Memorial, South Dakota Discovery Center, Buffalo Interpretive Center, Cultural Heritage Center, Casey Tibbs Rodeo Center, National Guard Museum, Oahe Dam and we are just blocks from downtown. “Relaxed and family friendly! Great value!”

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling with small children and likes a hassle free vacation. Rooms are tidy and clean. As an independent hotel we are always working on upgrades and so we replaced 23 beds in Jan and working on some new bed covers. “Good stay and great value”

Nice improvements being made recently to the lobby and check-in areas. New flat screen TVs in the rooms. They've got a nice sized meeting room if you're looking for a place for your group to meet. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

Thanks for your review and thanks for noticing that as an independent we do try to provide all the amenities of the brand hotels. We spent a lot of time last year doing new flat screens tv's, new countertops in the breakfast room, new security camera's around the building, added 26 new queen beds this winter and will be upgrading... “It is what it is”

Clean and pretty quite, this less then brand new hotel is just fine. Our room was a good temp. the traffic was not to loud, and we had plenty of space to spread out. Going running across the way to the Island was a perfect escape from the Tourism Conferance I was just at.

After reading all of the reviews of this Inn, I have to say I was disappointed with my stay. The hallways were a little messy with piles of old TV's and old air conditioning units stacked in some areas. The second floor ice maker was out of order. I enjoyed a very pleasant stay at Gov's Inn in mid-June 2012. Clean, quiet, swim pool, nice brealfast, exercise room, great location, great staff. I will definately stay again.

“Great Experience at the Governor's Inn, Pierre, SD.”

Just returned from Pierre, SD where we enjoyed a great three day stay at the Governor's Inn. Clean, friendly, and reasonably priced. Great breakfast. Spent a night at a much larger hotel on the way home and their breakfast was pale compared to what the Governor's Inn puts out! Location was so convenient and everybody was great...the kids loved it.... More

Wonderful if your not on the main hallway. Clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds, pet friendly, close to many types of food. Nice parking. No elevator
