Yogi Berra famously once said something like,"Nobody goes to that restaurant any more, the line's too long to get in." We live near The Old Village Post House, and our favorite seating is in its tavern, but we are frequently "shut out." We will never stop trying to get a seat and do not intend to discourage the reader of... More

Living in Mt. Pleasant, SC we sometimes miss the truly exceptional venues for dinning in this town. Just across the Charleston harbor we have some of the top fine dinning restaurants in the country. However, this past Monday my wife organized a surprise birthday dinner, for me, with five of our friends (couples) at the Old Village Post House Inn.... More

The Post House is a quaint spot. A gem for travelers in the Mt. Pleasant area. Shem Creek and Sullivan's Island are nearby for dining. Also, nice spot to take a walk is Shem Creek Park. The staff was helpful and accommodating when I requested to drop off my luggage early. I plan to stay here again!!!

You will be pleasantly surprised by the quaint atmosphere of the Old Post House. If it is warm outside, ask for a table on the patio. The food is exquisite - presentation and quality. Plus, the wait staff is very attentive. The meal is well worth the wait and the price!

My husband and I stayed at the Old Village Post House in mid-October for 2 nights. We had intended to stay elsewhere, but had to change our plans due to a sick dog, and when we went to rebook our original choice was sold out. All I can say is boy did we get lucky. We drove by our original... More

We wanted to visit Charleston but were delighted to stay a little bit away from the tourist hustle and bustle. This perfectly met our needs. Nice staff, great room, perfect location. The breakfast was not great, but with so many restaurants in Charleston, we were happy to eat out.

The Old Village of Mt. Pleasant is charming - beautiful homes, old-fashioned shopping and views of the water. Unfortunately the Old Village Post House is mainly noisy. Our room on the second floor was assaulted by the kitchen noises of dinner prep and serving from below and third-floor bedroom noise of dropped shoes, moved furniture and elephant-like footsteps from above.... My friend and I were pleasantly surprised by the charm of The Old Village Post House. Our room delightfully incorporating Old Southern charm with modern conveniences like a tv. The service throughout both The Old Village Post House and award winning restaurants was impeccable. Our dinner was a gourmet delight. Access to the ocean was a pleasant one block walk... More

Nice ambiance, fair service, but a boring menu. Food was competently prepared, but boring. The menu has little selection and offers nothing exciting. It is worth one visit, but not a return trip. Too many better options in the area.

On a brief trip to Charleston, we stayed at the Old Village Post House overnight. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The accommodations were not lavish, but met our needs for a fine experience. We also ate in the restaurant and had a wonderful meal (during Restaurant Week).
