We visited the Renaissance for a friend's batchelorette weekend, and we had an enjoyable stay. As mentioned previously, the location is great. The rooms were clean and asthetically pleasing, but there really was not anything that set this hotel apart from others in its class. The price is pretty steep in my opinon, considering it doesn't seem that much different... More

Have stayed in this hotel many times on our trips to Charleston, most recently Easter weekend. My wife and I love the location and we have had both good and bad experiences. One time we stayed while a fraternity had a formal and many drank too much and forgot how to act but hotel tried hard to control them. The... More

Very nice Hotel in heart of Charleston, access via walking to tourist sites and restaurants, nice rooftop pool , better size than most hotels (not great but pretty good) decent workout area too Nice decor in rooms and friendly staff, valet parking efficient- good breakfast included in our rate- HOWEVER the french fries were too soggy at lunch and when... These people know how to make you feel welcomed. Check in was smooth, valet great. Location is quite convenient to everything. Room was crystal clean. Comfy beds. Staff very friendly .Breakfast buffet was outstanding. Only negative note was bathrooms. No fans, so room steams up, big time. Bath tub has weird contour to bottom which makes it easy to lose... I have stayed in several hotels downtown Charleston. This one is close to just about any activities downtown (I stayed during the Charleston Film Festival). The service was good, the rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable, and there are the basic amenities you would expect. The price was less than other less-comparable hotels in the area. There are... More

Location is the best thing about this hotel. Walking distance to everything. Located in an area that's just fun to walk around plus old cemetery across the street that you can wander around in. Have to pay 12.95 for Internet. Beds comfortable .

Not to beat a dead horse but I agree with the last few reviews as well. The location is excellent but it is overpriced and thats just for the room. Internet, parking, etc are all extras you pay for. The staff is very courteous and helpful and the rooms are very comfortable but nothing spectacular(hallway rugs are also starting to... More

This location is within walking distance to much of the historic district. The room though is smaller than what one would expect. The beds were uncomfortable. The wanted us to park across the street in a parking garage which was not a huge deal. I understand though that parking in Charleston is at a premium so the cost was to... More

This was definitely not worth the price. After paying a rediculous price for the room everything was extra (parking, breakfast, etc.) The pool was a small outdoor rooftop lap pool. There was no hot tub. The pillows were horrible, We stayed at a Country Inn and Suites for $64.95 that had a lot more ammenities and was a lot more... More

We try to only stay at marriotts so this one seemed to be the best location for charleston. It was. Right in the middle of all the food and shopping. Our room was nice and the hotel staff very friendly. We are elite members and this is the first marriott that have actually gotten our member preferences right. There's no... More
