This was our first ever bed and breakfast. We were very impressed. Very clean, comfortable, beautiful landscaping and best of all close to Penn State. Sandy was very hospitable and friendly. The scenery was breath taking. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will defiantly be back.

We received a night's stay at the Mountain Hideway as a gift from friends. We were not disappointed with our stay. Rooms are spacious and very well appointed, beds very comfortable, nice fireplace and in room jacuzzi , roomy bathroom and spotlessly clean. Common areas include a game and TV room with internet access computer, and a full function kitchen... More

We went to visit my wife's parents and her sister's family. Mountain Hideaway was recommended t so we stayed as a home base to visit family from. Now we will stay at Mountain Hideaway for vacation and then visit extended family as we can. Carlton and Sandy are wonderful people and truly the best of the best.

The building and grounds were much nicer than we expected (much better in person than on the B&B's website). They have several patios and amazing landscaping that looks onto a sweeping lawn and forest. The building is lovely rustic architecture; the rooms are spacious and very clean. The decor is old-fashioned and pretty corny-- it's definitely "country charm" and rather... More

What a lovely getaway! Sandy and Carlton were very welcoming, and the B&B was super comfortable. Beautiful fall foliage on the property, a great place to do some fall foliage tourism. Plenty of space outside and inside, board-games and lots of DVDs available, and fast wifi too. Big yummy breakfast in the morning, and nice conversation with the owners and... More

Sandy & Carlton were excellent hosts and really made us very welcome. The accommodation is excellent. It was like staying in a 1st class hotel. Beautiful grounds and a decking area where we enjoyed the view with our friends over a glass or two of wine. Highly recommended.

This was our second time at the Mountain Hideaway and was just enjoyable as the first. The location is just superb. The owners are lovely people and help and assist when required. This is by far the best B & B we have ever stayed in. looking forward to the third visit. Peter S

We took a mid-week escape to the Mountain Hideaway and it was so wonderful. Only 20-25 minutes to State College, but it feels like its worlds away. The home is beautifully kept and very clean and the grounds are breath-taking. We stayed in the Buena Vista room and were so happy. The bed was wonderful to sleep on, the gas... More

This is the best B&B we have ever experienced! The tranquil location, gorgeous facility, welcoming hospitality, delicious food, sightings of wildlife and views of mountain ranges, are exemplary. You could not ask for anything more. It would be impossible not to relax here and enjoy being treated like a king or queen by the owners. They are wonderful people who... More

The sensation was of being so far removed from busy surroundings, yet is so easily accessible and relatively close to a major university. The breakfasts were beyond expectation! The setting is very scenic in summertime (Must be stupendous in fall & winter). Spacious rooms and common area; inside and outside well-maintained. Sandy, Carlton & Chico are most gracious and friendly... More
