My wife and I wanted a quiet , romantic 1-night stay in Pittsburgh. This is a town I lived and worked in for almost 10 years so I was very familiar with this section of town (Shadyside / Squirrel Hill). My wife came across this B&B on TripAdvisor and after reading a mix of the reviews we decided to go... More

Visiting my daughter and her family in Pittsburgh has also become a mini retreat since discovering the Mansion at Maole Heights. Have my own space, easy access to busses but love just walking around ShadySide. Great shops nearby. And, museums. I have spent the last two hours in the Mansion's library waiting for my daughter to get off from work.... More

We were guests at the Mansion at Maple Heights in October 2012 and had a great time. They have a wonderful, enthusiastic, and very helpful staff. Even though the owner is not on-site, it's easy to see that the staff has been carefully selected. We have stayed at many B&Bs over the years and we always enjoy interacting with staff... More

We spent two nights at this stunning mansion. We were greeted by Mandy, one of the Innkeepers, and treated to an extensive tour of the mansion and given the history of each room. We stayed in room 2 which was spacious with a king bed and a fireplace and huge windows looking out to the trees just beginning to turn... More

This is not your typical B&B. It's main business is as a wedding destination - usually on weekends, and the bed and breakfast is secondary. For some guests this is an advantage. While the home is historic, the bedrooms are airy and modern, with large flat-screen tv's broadcasting all the premium channels, and good wifi. There is a shared kitchen... More

Pay attention to the negative reviews of this B&B which appears to accommodate guests as an afterthought to renting the place out for weddings. The location off a steep, narrow, dark road, is not handy for walking around the neighborhood, but it is very private. There is no 24/7 inn keeper. We were checked in by a downtown looking young... This mansion is a reminder of Pittsburgh's salad days. It's a lovely old building in a quiet setting, and a short walk or drive to many of the city's key attractions. The young staff are enthusiastic, friendly and eager to help. The chef works solo, so your breakfast is made to order, but if the dining room is full, your... More

This bed and breakfast is owned or run by management with no idea of hospitality. The negative reviews appearing here all reflect our own experience. Open the handsome front door and you will find a large empty entry way with barren public rooms except for the library where you are checked in and given a list of instructions by a... More

Stayed a single night in mid July for a college visit to Carnegie Melon. The staff were very friendly and helpful suggesting places for dinner and things to do the next day. Our cooked to order breakfast was awesome. We were otherwise left alone in this big old house which had lots of books and and a few games in... More
