I contacted Rebekah yesterday (4-7-13) to make reservations for a June visit to the Phoenixville area and was informed the B&B is closed. We enjoyed our stay there last June and were looking forward to a return when we learned the sad news.

We booked a three-night stay at this B&B, intending to do a lot of bicycling on the newly-opened Schuylkill River Trail which eventually, when it is completed, will be a continuous trail system connecting Philadelphia with the anthracite coal region, generally following the river and utilizing some old abandoned railroad lines as well as canal towpaths in a few areas.... My stay at Morningstar was a total delight. Rebecca and Terry are wonderful hosts. The setting is welcoming, as is the home. Breakfast was simply great each day. Plus the location is ideal -- I could walk to the town of Phoenixville and enjoy the shops, restaurants, and historic old buildings; and Valley Forge Park is just a short drive... More

I'm very surprised at the negative reviews of Morning Star, and I want to re-enforce the positive ones. I guess if you're expecting a stay at a Motel 6 or a Ramada you'll want to look elsewhere. If you're interested in kind, welcoming informative people, a beautiful old farm house, and tasty, environmentally conscious food you'll want to seriously take... More

I am frankly amazed at some of the harsh reviews that the Morningstar has received. I first stayed there while on tour (the group I was traveling with played a show in the area and the local promoter put us up here) in 2005, and returned again (as a paying customer this time) in October of 2006 with my wife... If you stay at the Morning Star in Phoenixville, you may consider never staying at another BnB again. After reading the review about used soap and an inept hostess who served terrible food, I thought just sour grapes. No, the bad review was unfortunately, correct. Musty. Dirty. and bugs! After being thoroughly freaked out after finding numerous bugs in our... More

After staying at a previous B&B in Lancaster county we were somewhat disapointed in this one. The accomidations were adequate, but the bath room had used hand soap in the shower and the breakfasts were not exactly tasty. The inn keeper didn't really seem to know the area all that well either..we will not be returning.

We found this B & B because we needed a the location for a family visit trip. The hotel prices in Valley Forge were exorbitant during the week, but the B & B was very reasonable. Morning Star exceeded my expectations in every way. Not only was it clean, it was sparkling. The owner was sensitive to the picky eating... More
