Stayed one night. Had a drink in the bar before dinner and had to get a jumper to put on as it was very draughty - door kept being left open. Food was ok in restaurant but then went straight to bed as I could not get warm! The room was pretty small and the bed too short for my... More

We had lunch at the Royal Oak after wandering through Lostwithiel, shopping and "just looking" in all the fab antiques stores and other shops. The staff was friendly and efficient, the food was yummy and reasonably priced, and the lager on draught was slurpilicious. (Sorry but I can't remember what it was!)

There were problems with the reservation but the personnel solved them immediately. They were really nice. The room is big enough compared to other inns. It's not a luxury lodge but for a couple of nights it's very good

We stayed here for the bank holiday weekend. Room was clean and nicely decorated, but a little small. Perfectly good enough for our needs. Breakfast was somewhat chaotic. Despite filling a form the night before the lady serving did not have it. Told us we should have filled one in even though we had. Besides this the breakfast was well... More

Haven't stayed here but tried the food for the first time a last weekend. One of the best carvery meals we've ever had. Like the atmospheric interior of the place and the service was excellent, too. Top value & highly recommended for a Sunday lunch!

Ate here on a Saturday night with party of four, largely based on Trip Advisor reviews. They were quite busy, and warned us that there would be roughly 30 minutes wait for the food, although in reality it was a little longer than this. The food was fairly standard pub grub, which was a bit pricey for what you got.... More

A wonderful little spot this pretty pub was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were ready early and what a treat they were. Our room was superb value at £50 for the two of us with breakfast and although it was compact it was most charming and well designed. Our fellow guests had bigger rooms at a slightly increased price and... More

This pub/restaurant has been through some really bad times, but the current owners have brought it right back up to the top. The decor is really good, the service is cheerful and welcoming, and the food is really good, honest and unpretentious, well presented and tasty. The prices are very reasonable too.

Visited for Mother's Day and received excellent service. Mothers were treated to a free glass of wine which was a nice added touch. Carvery offered 3 selection of meats and choice of vegetables which were all nicely cooked and hot. Even though a busy day were not rushed through meal giving us time between courses. A big thank you to... More
