We stayed in Highfield Lodge in May, June and September. Dave and Lisa keep the hotel spotlessly clean. The rooms are lovely some face Cubert Common and the others look over to Crantock Bay. The choice of breakfast is really good but I can't stop having Dave's lovely fry up. The boiled eggs come out with little wooly hats on.... More

We have just returned from a 6 night break at the Highfield Lodge in Crantock. The locaton was perfect for us as it's very close to some lovely beaches and plenty of coastal walks. The village is a 5 minute walk and there's some excellent places to eat nearby ( i would recommend the Smugglers Den Inn and the Cornishman... More

My wife and I flew to England from Switzerland to walk the South West Coast Path. Wishing to avoid Newquay because of its reputation, we chose to stay at Crantock which has a small and pleasant village, a couple of pubs and lovely sandy beaches. The welcome might have been warmer had we been accompanied by dogs to this dog... More

Every guest house, hotel or organisation that deals with the public get's a bad review once in a while! It would seem that this is ours, and whilst it would be easy to dismiss it we are greatly disappointed in receiving it. We feel the title is a bit extreme, and not reflective of the actual review, but we do... More

Linda and I stayed at the Highfield Lodge from Friday 3rd June to Monday 6th June. Firstly a big thank you to Dave & Lisa, two of the most genuine people you will ever meet, exceptionally caring and went out of their way to make for a perfect stay. The lodge is modern, has everything you'll need in the exceptionally... More

We stayed for 4 nights in the flat to the side of Highfield Lodge, and our experience was much the same as those others on this site who enjoyed a friendly and unobtrusive welcome. We have two dogs and Dave and Lisa were relaxed and very easy going when it came to their needs and ours. The flat is very... More

Great place to stay if you love the beautiful beaches of North Cornwall especially Polly Joke and Crantock. The hotel is neat and tidy and if you have a dog they and yourself are made most welcome by the owners. We loved the full Cornish breakfast but they offer plenty of choice if you want a light breakfast. We took... More

We arrived after an 8hour journey to a warm welcome. Drink making facility in the bedroom. Our dog was fussed over (which he enjoyed). Lisa stated he could sleep on the bed & asked if we had a cover for him to lie on. The food was wonderful. A really wonderfull place to stay, have passed on the address already.... More

We appreciate our guests writing such positive reviews. However we would like to point out that we do not encourage owners to allow dogs onto the beds. If it seems that it s going to be impossible to stop it we ask owners to bring a suitable throw, or we will provide one. We pride ourselves on the fact that... More

I stayed here with 10 of my friends to celebrate my 40th birthday. Dave and Lisa (the owners) were fantastic hosts and Daves cooking is some of the best I have tasted. All the food was locally sourced and the full Corninsh breakfast was superb. The rooms were smart and well presented. We took our dog and were spoilt for... More
