The description of this motel is over the top when compared to reality. It is a basic, clean, small place to stay for the night. The included breakfast was minimal, with packaged muffins, one choice of cold cereal, toast, juice, and a waffle iron. It certainly did not live up to the words "elegant", "charming", or "boutique". The double/double room... More

Janice & Chef Joey make your experience one of a kind with their positive and outgoing attitudes and wonderful personalities. The food is great and the omelette station is to die for. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area!!!!

The hotel is nice, comfortable, very pretty and well situated. The rooms and bed very comfortable, and the staff accommodating. Breakfast was included, but it was like being on a treasure hunt. Hopefully this was a bad week and not the norm. There was one waffle-maker and a shelf with a few bagels and some cake. The bagels ran out... More

We have stayed here many, many times and have always enjoyed our stay. I had read that the place had gone downhill but refused to believe it without seeing it for myself. Sadly we experienced several small disappointments which, when taken altogether, left us nostalgic for the "old" hotel. First of all, the place needs an update. The furniture, bedspreads,... More

What a charming hotel! We were greeted with tea (cold or hot) and cookies. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the room furnished in early American. Since the room was stuffy I opened a window and the scene was so quiet! Breakfast was good as well. Stay here--we loved it!

Stayed 2 nights. Terrific front desk personnel! Setting against the hillside next to the river very charming. Decor equally so. Adequate breakfast (breads, cereals, yogurt, coffee & tea, juices) complimentary. Rooms clean and comfortable.

We chose this hotel because of the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. It is located across the street from the Brandywine River Museum, hence very convenient. The hotel was very clean and had a more personal touch than many chain hotels can offer. Service was "over the top" friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was roomy with variety... More

This charming quaint hotel is set back in a peaceful pastoral setting and has the ambiance of a quiet country inn. I spent eight nights in a lovely room that was so nice to return to after a day of work. Each morning they offer an adequate breakfast selection and fresh baked cookies every afternoon. If you're hungry, I recommend... More

This was my wife's second stay here and my first. While the building and room were adequate, the overall feeling was tired. Wallpaper from the 70s dominated. The rooms were clean and quiet and the TV (old tube type)worked. For the price I generally got what I expected - not charming, but adequate. There were two areas needing attention in... More

Just returned from enjoyable stay at this quaint hotel. It is on Rt. 1, Baltimore Tnpk, which is a very busy road, but the hotel is quiety tucked back on a hill, away from any noise. It has a colonial/traditional feel, with a welcoming fireplace & seating in the lobby. There is also a breakfast room serving a variety of... More
