If one is seeking a great B&B experience, this is your place. I spent two weeks there while taking a Luthier class nearby. Innkeeper Sally was extremely accommodating with respect to my time schedule. She prepared expert level, 3 coarse breakfast's every day that are to die for, I think I'm spoiled forever. Can't be a more welcoming & comfortable... More

If you want a B&B in a quiet neighborhood, convenient to attractions, with large rooms and fabulous food this is the place to stay. The rooms are immaculate and filled with thoughtful amenities. The breakfasts are truly gourmet and very substantial. The location is near the zoo and gardens and only 10 minutes from downtown. Sally is a fount of... More

We're repeat visitors to Rose Cottage, and could go on and on about it, but I'll start with the short version. The location—near the zoo, rose test garden and Japanese garden, about 10 minutes by car from the center of downtown Portland—is exceptionally quiet and has free parking right in front. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and tastefully... More

We stayed with Sally for 3 nights during our roadtrip, and absolutely loved it here! The upstairs room was comfortable and clean, but the breakfasts! My oh my, there were amazing. They were truly gourmet, and kept us full until late afternoon. We would highly recommend this place, it was fantastic. You need a car to get here, but it's... More

Some members of my family stayed in both rooms for four nights while visiting my sister and her new baby in Portland. The innkeeper, Sally, was very accommodating, welcoming other family members to stop by to visit during the day, and allowing us to adjust our sleeping arrangements after the baby's difficult birth complicated our plans. Sally is meticulous about... More

My husband and I took a mid-week retreat to the Rose Cottage. The Rose Cottage had come highly recommended from a friend of ours who has stayed there during a visit to Portland. So in the middle of the December rush, we decided to step away for some quiet time together. The innkeeper, Sally, was lovely and welcoming. She showed... More

We (my husband, adult son, and I) stayed at Rose Cottage for two nights in early June and greatly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are very large and attractively/charmingly decorated, surrounded by a lovely garden, with many extra amenities (quality soaps, iron, TV/DVD, excellent coffee maker and even Neosporin and bandaids in each bathroom!). The breakfasts were ample and excellent... More

Our friends found this B&B when we planned to go to Portland for the weekend. It cost less than hotel room downtown and had much more space. Since we were travelling together, we shared the sitting room. When you arrive, Sally takes the time to walk you through the features of each room and where to find the instructions for... More

This has been the third visit to the Rose Cottage. The room is spacious and decorated delightfully. The outdoor setting is beautiful and green. Actually, I even saw light snow out of the window early one morning. Organic Breakfast: I don't think I have ever had such a wonderful breakfast each morning--from juice to home-made breads to fruit to exceptional... More

This is the 4th time we have stayed at "Rose Cottage B&B" in Portland. We love how close it is to downtown Portland, so that it's easy to go back and forth in the course of a day. The Wild Rose Suite is very spacious, with a small kitchenette, a cozy fireplace, and a separate living room area and bedroom.... More
