Desert Hills Motel 5220 E. 11th St., Tulsa, OK 74112 This was our second choice in Tulsa, we were travelling with two ladies, you know Patsy and Edina sweetie, so every motel or hotel, we had to ask the owners for a set of key, so that we could look at every room, when everyone was happy, we would then... We drove Route 66 in August 2012 and were looking forward to our night in Tulsa. However, various people had warned us about this particular stretch of Route 66 and, as it turned out, rightly so. When we arrived at the Desert Hills Motel, we were absolutely petrified! A very suspicious looking 'guest' sat on the curb of the motel... More

I am wondering if I stayed in the same place all the other reviewers did. I did come on here before I booked as was Really worried about the room but still booked for some reason. When we got there it looked really cool from outside, especially the sign. We checked in and parked right outside our room. I was... More

Sorry to say this is the worse motel I have ever stayed at. My husband and I travel for his work and, we didn't know the area , we were tired of driving so we checked in. The room was so filthy , and roach infested with bedbugs that I had to go to the emergency room the next morning... More

Did a road trip on Route 66 starting June 1. All Route 66 books mentioned this motel. It looks charming from the outside. Drive by and look at motel but DO NOT stay there. The rooms are the worst I have ever seen. We noticed that most of their customers came and went in a taxi !!! If you are... More

Stayed here during our Route 66 trip in October 2011. The motel has it's charm, the rooms are quite basic but clean, but you don't get the same welcome as you do with other classic places along the Route. But as a place to spend a night, it does the job!

costs rising I understand but it does not match the motel. Run down. Indian (India) family. When grandma knocks on your door in the morning you better give her your garbage. If you want new towels/washcloths/TP etc you better tell her or this is the last time today you get anything. I did not go out at night. TV available... More

To be fair, we didn't even make it the whole night. I went on a Route 66 road trip with my father, and we tried to stay in the more vintage "neon sign" motels along the way. After being spoiled by some of the more fun, novel, and lovely motels prior...this place was pretty darn tragic. Listen to the other... More
