We had been to this hotel before and would have chosen another hotel closer to our relatives had it been available. As it was, we gave it a second chance after being disappointed last year for some things that still have not been addressed. The most glaring problem is an elevator that has not been working. We’re not sure if management cares about this issue or a variety of other issues, but another major disappointment was we never had room service, and were politely told to ask for it every morning before 9 AM, which we did, and it still didn’t arrive. For two mornings in a row they had no milk in the refrigerator for complimentary breakfast. Each time we requested something they did not have they would nicely offer us points. I’m not sure the hotel chain would be very happy with this, but apparently this is how they deal with unresponsive management. Holiday Inn needs to look into this hotel, because this is unacceptable on many levels, especially in a retail zone where there are several other hotels in competition nearby. We have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels throughout the country and none of them have been this poorly run. We will not return to this hotel again.

Stay Date 7-26-23 Room 312 Hotel: Holiday Inn Express & Suites 2500 Conference Drive, Norman Ok. 73069 Complaint: Bed Bugs Found after turning in for the night...started itching pulled covers back and saw bugs crawling in the sheets and pillows... I checked out at 2:00 a.m. told desk I didnt think I should be charged for this Bed Bug experience she said she had no authority to refund and would have GM call me first thing in the morning, I never got a call so I called and Clay (GM) was in a meeting...called again still in meetings...called the next day he was not in...called again this morning 7-31-23 he was not in...a while later I got a call from Clay...Basically told me he wasnt going to refund because his hotel does not have bed bugs. I have bites and welts from the stay and still scratching a week later. Clay was very rude and could care less I would not recommend this IHG Hotel....

First let me say the female working the front desk was polite and accomodating. None of this is a reflection on her. We have been IHG members for years and years. This by far is the most filthy HIE I have ever stayed in to date. We were at first given a room that hadn't been cleaned (at 7pm check in) bed not mase and dirty towels on the floor. Then the room we got was "cleaned" but still so dirty. Mystery stains on the walls and mold growing in the shower in the bathroom (orange and black mold). The elevators were also disgusting filled with trash and sticky floors. There needs to be a trash can by the elevators. Stayed on the 3rd floor and people were just piling up fast food trash on the table by the elevator. It was nasty. Housekeeping needs a major overhaul here.

Where do I start? First of all when we arrived to check in they said they did not have the room that I requested earlier in the day by calling them. Finally, after some heated discussion all at once they had a room on the top floor, king size bed and away from the elevator. When we arrived in the room it was dirty and the bed was made but looked as though the previous guest slept in it. The bathroom wasn't clean and there was food on the floor. Also, the built in shampoo bottle was completely empty. We called the front desk and she brought up clean sheets for us to make the bed and we showed her everything that was wrong. She agreed and left. We have pictures of everything that was nasty. The next day the lead housekeeper Melissa K. came up to apologize and said she would take care of everything. She seems like the only one in the hotel that cares about anything .Credit to her. She took the girl that cleaned it last into the room and spent two hours cleaning the room she said it should have never been like that. After her cleaning it the room was great. We spoke to the manager of the hotel and did comp us one days stay and supposedly gave us 1000 points, to which I have not seen them yet. Also, the elevator has a really loud squealing sound when it stops. We did bring it to front desk attention to which they didn’t seem to care. The fire alarm button on one of the elevators was broker off, how is that OK? The pool was out of order for all three days we stayed and I'm sure it has not been available for a lot longer. The breakfast selection was poor all three days that we stayed. There were no signature cinnamon rolls. I ask the breakfast attendant and she said they cannot get them. Plus, they only had the prepackaged muffins one day out of the three. The eggs were not hot and dried out. The coffee was weak all three days and terrible tasting. When we left the Norman IHG we went to Roswell NM and stay one night. They had the room that I called ahead for and it was cleaned and they had better coffee and actually had cinnamon rolls and muffins, imagine that.

We stayed Dec 21-23rd at this property. It was ok. The property is very dated and in need of desperate deep cleaning. Carpets, walls, bathrooms. They need new mattresses. Comfort wasn’t my concern—it’s cleanliness. The mattress in room 326 has a giant yellow spot on it. I slept without bedding because I didn’t want to sleep under the covers near the yellow spot. Front desk said they had no available blankets so I went without. There was only one elevator working and it was extremely slow. Going down stairs isn’t an option with a toddler and stroller. Breakfast was ok. Sausage tasted good but it was way over cooked and so were the eggs. The pool was good. Highly chlorinated but it was clean. The spa was hot! It felt nice on my feet but I couldn’t get in because of the heat but that was ok. The staff was very friendly. No issues there. One note that isn’t a reflection of the hotel as the Embassy Suites across the street had same issue—there were several car break ins on the first night we were there. Targeted trucks only. Multiple nice expensive cars were left untouched. But not all trucks broken into either. So if you stay just be vigilant to hide your items or take them in.

Stayed for a weekend, Fri-Sun. Arrived somewhat late on Fri, I had done check-in through the app. Upon arrival outside is nice, found parking and family grabbed a luggage cart. Since I checked in on the app the front desk had keys ready and took me maybe 2 minutes at the front desk. Was informed of times of breakfast, location of pool and hot tub and told that the hot tub may be closed or just not working. Our room was on the 3rd floor, 331. Went to the elevators and found only 1 was functional, although the one not working had no sign. The room was nice at first glance, but upon walking in and such found the walls need cleaned as they had food or something on them in numerous clear to see areas. Our rooms had 2 queen beds in room. Both beds and the hideabed were terrible, not just bad, but terrible. We did not have any linens for the hideabed in the room so daughter went to front desk to get them. She came back up and said the front desk told her we were "lucky" as all other linens were being cleaned and that was all they had. I note this as the second night during the elevator issue a guest came down asking for a pillow and blanket and was told they could only give him a pillow and no blankets were available. Bathroom was nice, but found we only had 3 regular sized towels for 4 people. Also there was a crack running along the back wall of the shower large enough water has to be getting in it, about 2 feet long. Bathroom had a small bottle of lotion, the body wash, shampoo and conditioner are affixed to the bathroom wall and available. There was a small blow dryer in the bathroom that worked well. Upon trying to get in bed I injured myself as the top soft part of the mattress was almost none existent and VERY worn down, so I was met with nothing but hard thick metal on the side (about 1/2" bar and the coils under that. So I had to get creative and help from my husband getting in and out of the bed. It is now Tuesday and I am still recovering from back pain, and shin bruises. Both beds and hideabed had this issue and were WAY past time of needing to go. Teens went down to the pool area and came back saying it was nice, that hot tub was open but jets were not working. Saturday we went out all day and came back around 10pm with dinner in tow. We went to elevators to find that now neither were working. Husband went to let front desk know to which she let him know where the stairs were. When this happened a lady and her elderly mother had just walked up to the elevator. Unfortunately I have mobility issues that prevent me from taking 3 flights of stairs, as well as the elderly lady waiting. The daughter of elderly lady went to front desk to inquire what they were to do. The front desk agent was just calling elevator company for assistance. In this time I had to just sit in the lobby area and try not to be embarrassed that I could not go anywhere. My kids went up to the room via the stairs to eat dinner while my husband and elderly waited as well. Luckily it didn't take too awful long before the elevator was fixed, although again only 1 elevator was functional. This was about a half hour of waiting. Ate my dinner and ready to go to bed, to be reminded of the metal cage I would be sleeping on. Sunday the teen in the living area answer door by housekeeping knocking at 930! Daughter let them know we were still in the room. They told her check out was at 11am. I have stayed in many hotels over my years and have never had housekeeping arrive to my room early like that trying to clean. We all got up shortly after this and could hear them knocking on all the doors on our floor until we left. The living area of rooms are not very sound proof. We heard each door, people TV in the room across the hall. From the room, with our personal fan on high, we didn't hear anything. With the fan off, we could hear doors and people in the hallway. Also frustrating is on the Holiday Inn direct website it notes that check out is 12pm, but hotel has 11am. At check out no one was at the front desk but they had a fish bowl sitting out to drop cards in. I felt the price was fair when booked initially, but after the stay I can assure you I am frustrated and disappointed and almost feel ripped off. It looks nice from a distance, but clearly issues going on.

We were delighted to discover that our room was area was a real “suite”. Spacious well furnished living room and a king bedroom that was bigger than a “luxury” suite we stayed at later on in our trip. Very pretty vaulted ceilings in bedroom. Major issues or renovation going on as pool was closed. I am an adult that loves to swim so I was disappointed, but still worth it for the two of us. Had a couple of cleaning issues in our room but nothing horrible that a couple of wipes couldn’t take care of. I’m going to speak to the manger about it privately, as she is very nice and does seem to care. We went on into OKC from here. Great bang for the buck

We were going to stay here, but when we got there the pool and hot tub were closed. The front desk said that it was under construction and closed. With kids we for sure wanted a place that had one. We were able to find another place easily. Staff was friendly and understood.

Great stay. Staff was friendly. Somewhat limited parking near door but we got a spot. I think this is a recently opened property. Breakfast great — similar to the other H.I. express we stayed in in Missouri. Beginning to think this is a good chain to stay in although I am not amemeber. Not too pricey but superior to the cheaper places. Great nights sleep

Our room was clean and comfortable. We had opportunity to spend time with the GM and found someone who is serious about making a visitors stay as comfortable as possible. She is working on making this the kind of place that someone will visit more than once. Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one.
