The cooked breakfasts were really nice and the coffee wonderful, but our room was very small. We were continually clambering over our cases. Yes it was the cheapest room, but it wasn't that cheap. (eg. compared to a lovely B&B in Port Macquarie at $15 a night less than this) One of the light globes was blown and never got... More

A charming and rustic guesthouse with loads of character, a lovely fireplace and a friendly and welcoming manager (who made my day by loaning me an adaptor plug). The Thai restaurant on site in the charming dining room was an added and totally unexpected bonus.

Spent six nights here in April and found it a little "tired" but pleasantly relaxing. Katherine, the owner, is a charming lady, clearly under pressure, but anxious to ensure that her customers are comfortable. My room had a queen size bed and shower. No real complaints about anything there, but it was in need of some redecoration and sprucing up.... More

Something is amiss with the management of this guest house and the present owner is clearly struggling. Very little promised on the website or in the room information booklet was fulfilled. We were not given the alleged welcome by the owner (who was nowhere to be seen when we arrived) and were handed our keys by the restaurant manager. The... More

We found this B&B from a tour guide and the web site. The building itself is not quite as nice as the pictures, as it is old, with the problems and charm of an old building. Katherine is British and the atmosphere and decor seemed very British. We upgraded our room for a 3 night stay, and it was adequate,... More

Stayed 2 nights here in a standard room. LOCATION Situated in the nice town of Blackheath in the beautiful blue mountains. Easy access to all the main lookouts and walk trails. Caught the autumn leaves down the streets and there's a pretty Rhododendron garden in the town. ACCOMMODATION Average sized room with shower. Kettle with tea provided. FOOD Nice hearty... More

Definitely be wary of Glenella’s cancellation policy. I originally booked in for a two night stay in February for April. A couple of weeks later I wanted to move the date of our stay due to an error in dates. I called multiple times, and left voice-mail on Katherine’s mobile and land-line but was never granted the courtesy of a... More

First thing we did after checking in for two nights - after, that is, stepping aside for two men lumping 25kg bags of rice up the front path, ringing a reception bell that seemed not to be connected to anything, and eventually being shown to our room by a restaurant worker - was pay $7.50 for 1 hour of Wifi... Ditto to" Ünrealised Potential" A friend and I have just stayed at Glenella and had the same suite of rooms and we were badly disappointed! Guest area is busy with outsiders coming to eat at the Thai restaurant or picking up takeaways. Food smell everywhere! Not at all private. Breakfast is the same each day. Cutlery dirty. My room 3 was... More

We stayed at Glenella in November 2012, as a result of the various postings on Trip Advisor. I am very aware that comments about bookings going wrong etc. can influence opinions of a property and therefore was reassured by the views of previous guests and the pictures on the website, before booking. I must admit that we three were somewhat... More
