I came to this hotel recently to attend a wedding in the village. On the phone I was quoted a price of £95 for a standard room and breakfast. However on arrival I was told the price had been put up as they then realised that the wedding I was attending was in the village not the hotel. I accepted... More

I stayed here for a wedding recently. The hotel is very well presented and the grounds are perfectly maintained. I stayed in room 1 on the ground floor for 2 nights. The room was nice and comfortable, clean and spacious. The window didnt open an aweful lot and there is a hot water pipe running around the room that contributes... More

I attended my cousins wedding at Newton Park yesterday, the attention from the staff was second to none, being a full time wheelchair user i was given preferential treatment. The wedding meal was delicious, as was the evening barbecue, my only grip was the price of drinks at the bar, a pint of pedigree was £4, which I thought was... More

The Mercure Burton on Trent is set in some lovely grounds and from the outside it looks wow but the inside needs some maintenance and a bit of TLC as it’s an old building. The staffs are very friendly and helpful the food is of good quality and above normal hotel standards. The cooked breakfast is good value and the... More

We had a really comfortable stay at this hotel, and received a free upgrade to a suite without asking for it. We dined in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed good food, served by the best member of staff it has been my experience to have wait on us. Friendly, welcoming and efficient staff in a characterful 'country house style hotel'. The very nice reception rooms are wood panelled in the style of the property giving it a stylish and traditional feel. Excellent restaurant serving very well presented superb food (probably the best mussels in wine & cream I've had), with professional and friendly service from the waiter/restaurant manager.... More

We attended the Newton Park as part of a wedding party. The occasion seemed to be very well managed and the organisation of the day seemed excellent (as a guest). A very nice Country House hotel with eager-to-please staff. It would benefit from some decoration but it was clean, if at times a bit drab. The restaurant is excellent for choice, service and quality/presentation of food. The bar was well stocked, though the bar staff were a little rusty on cocktails. Reception I only saw at checking in and out... More

We have recently spent one night bed and breakfast with an evening meal for my birthday celebration. The location of the hotel is lovely with extensive grounds.
