My husband & I stayed at Firwood for one night. From the moment we arrived, we were delighted with every aspect of our visit. The location is idyllic, a rural setting with an abundance of wildlife on the doorstep, and stunning views across the valley. The tea & homemade cake on arrival was much appreciated, and we have never felt... More

we first stayed at Firwwood several years ago and have been back every year since. you couldn't wish to meet a nicer couple than mike & beth who run Firwood. it is an Idyllic setting with very comfortable accomodation. we sleep better there than we do at home. Mikes breakfast is 1st class whether you have the full english or... More

There were six of us walking St Cuthbert's Way and we stayed here for one night, 22nd August 2012. After being shown our rooms, which were very large and comfortable, we were invited into the lounge for delicious home made cake and tea. Beth made us feel at home immediately. There was lots of information about the surrounding area in... More

Excellent B&B in countryside. About half an hour walk to Wooler. About four-hour walk to Ingram though you could hire a bike as well. Morning is quiet and peaceful. The staff are very helpful and helped me with my walk plan and lent me maps to go by. The room is cosy. There are a couple of interesting decorates in... More

We stayed for a long weekend and you could not ask for a more friendly welcome. The B+B is situated a few miles outside of Wooler in the most relaxed and gorgeous location. The hosts are very friendly without being intrusive. Helpful, with a thorough knowledge if the area. The decor will not be to everyone's taste but it is... More

An excellent B&B in beautiful countryside with stunning views. Numerous walks from venue so able to leave car on site, transport advisable to reach pubs in Wooler although if feeling energetic or want a whole bottle of wine to yourself, it could be done on foot. Rooms large and very comfortable although our radiator didn't seem to work very well.... More

We book our long weekend away (Jubilee weekend) at a bit short notice. We actually only found this place as my partners sister had bought us a voucher and they were on the list. When we arrived the house was amazing and the views excellent too. It had been restored brilliantly and Mike and Beth are the friendliest and knowledgeable... More

Have you ever stayed somewhere special and been tempted not to tell anyone about it in case you can never get in again? This is one of those places. Set in beautiful countryside and close to the coast, it is perfectly situated for a peaceful break, where one can just sit and watch the visiting birds and animals, get booted up... More

We stayed at Firwood House in May 2012 for one wonderful week. Our hosts Beth and Mike made us feel totally welcome and at home - even though we were the other side of the globe from home. The room was large and airy and spotlessly clean, (as was our great ensuite) and full of little luxuries - nice touches,... More
