As we pulled up onto the grounds I thought to myself what a stunning place, we got into the reception everything looked nice and modern then as soon as we was given our keys we went down the corridor to join the main building itself then it felt like I had just time warped into the 1970s! The decor was... More

We were bought a package here as a wedding gift for a 2 nights, Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. We only managed one night and even that was a struggle. Where to start with Longhirst. Firstly I'll list the positives, The grounds. They were very pleasant to walk around and i'm sure in summer it would be lovely to be able... More

We didn't stay at the hotel but called in for Sunday lunch. The hall stands in beautiful grounds, entered through a tree lined drive. The building is an impressive country house in mellow sandstone. Although we had not made a booking ,the staff were welcoming and accommodating. We chose to eat in the restaurant and were taken to a table... More

Beautiful grounds well kept. Staff, on the whole very good. Meals generally very good for a busy hotel, but breakfast was a bit hit or miss with eggs over done and hard bacon. The rooms are looking very tired, The double glazing was blown resulting in steamed up panes. The room furniture was past its best and could do to... More

Stayed here for a friends wedding. The wedding itself was great. The setting was lovely and staff were attentive during the wedding to make it a great day for the happy couple. The hotel accommodation itself was terrible. Rooms were very dated, small, stuffy and dark. They really need updating. The bed was uncomfortable and the furniture old wooden pieces... More

Lovely hotel in beautiful setting. The hotel staff were very accommodating, especially our waitress at breakfast...a real star! The room was very clean and well equipped if a little on the small size. Golf courses are of a very high standard. The lakes course was shorter but very fair, the other course was a bit longer but again in beautiful... More

Visited on Sunday 9th June with my partners parents. Planned it to be a bit special as it was Paul's father's 80th in July, and as they were heading off to Canada the week after on the 16th, was a double birthday and Father's Day present and wanted this to be special...... Bitterly disappointed!! Waited over 10 minutes to be... More

Fantastic location and at first sight it is a wow but the place is dated and in need of some tlc. We were upgraded to a superior room which I can honestly say was disgraceful. The kingsize bed was actually two beds pushed together both of which had collasped springs and you were lying in a dip. Carpet was stained... More

What a lovely time we have had rooms are small but hey you only sleep in them. The breakfast was first class as is the service. Bar food also really nice no problems. It is in quite a central a position for Morpeth , Alnwick , amble, and warkworth.

On driving up to this beautiful looking hotel we were hugely disappointed at the interior, in particular the bedrooms which were dated and unclean the bed linen was lumpy. We were guests at a wedding. Some of the staff were O.K in particular the girls on the front desk, but the rest of the staff i.e bar staff and management... More
