Because we had to change the date of our visit my friend and I were given the family suite; adjoining rooms with shared bathroom. Over the phone Lynne did not make it sound very attractive but it would save us a little money on two single occupancy rooms. In the event, far from being in a garret, it was on... More

We're really pleased you enjoyed your stay with us again but am saddened that you won't be coming back, maybe come by train instead of cycle? Our family room is an ideal alternative to two single rooms, one large room with a double and single bed in and a smaller side room with a single bed and the shared en-suite... More

Traveled to Berwick during February with some friends to watch a sporting event and decided to stay overnight. What a good decision to pre - book the Alannah House, Our room was large comfortable warm and welcoming. Our Hosts were very friendly and informative and the breakfast on Sunday morning was excellent. I will certainly book again, hopefully later this... More

First trip to Berwick and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our 2 nights. Stayed in family room (room 3) which comprises very good size room with double and single bed plus an adjoining room with single bed and en-suite, so ideal for family of 4. Both rooms had tv and selection of games. Very clean... More

A lovely comment thank you. Bedroom 3 is our family room so as stated is suitable for a family of 4, we also have a cot which can be used. The room is divided in two with the en-suite situated in the smaller part so we have found that this room is also suitable for persons who may normally want... More

Typical drab Berwick on outside but first rate once past the front door! It just fitted my requirements and I intend to return shortly. Clean comfortable large room. I agree with the other recent reviews.

Thanks a lot to Alannah House. The place beats the best hotels I have been to. Service is impeccable, our room just perfect and spacious, the staff talkative (we learned quite a bit of the history of the building), there is a very nice garden (although it started raining just as we went out), excellent breakfast and our 12-month-old got... Just home from a two night stay here, we arrived to a warm welcome, and shown to our lovely spacious room, which had good en-suite facilities, a couple of comfy armchairs, a comfort basket with brolly, sewing box, shoe shine etc. A fridge with fresh milk for your cuppa, and wine glasses and bottle opener if you fancied wine, this... This was our second trip to this lovely guest house. First from the St Cuthberts Way and now St Oswalds Way. The welcome couldn't have been nicer, Lynn is really nice and really takes care of you. The rooms are spotless and contain everything you could possibly need for your stay. Breakfast is wholesome and hearty and certainly leaves you... More

We were wet and muddy when we wheeled our bikes up to the entrance of Allanah House, but Lynn's welcome could not have been warmer. The room she showed us up to was a good-size - plenty of room for luggage and a couple of comfy chairs - and nice and light thanks to large windows. And there were some... More

I was stranded in Berwick when the East Coast trains could go no further south due to a landslide. There was hundreds of people looking for accomodation that day so I walked until I found one with a vacancy so it was quite by chance that I stumbled upon Alannah House and am I glad I did. The welcome was... More

Thanks for the good comments. It certainly was an exceptional afternoon, firstly the torrential rain then the chaos with the trains and stranded passengers, we're pleased we were able to accommodate you and genuinely hope you do get the chance to re visit Berwick and fully enjoy the town and countryside in the future and of course there'll always be...
