This hotel was a great base for touring round Northumberland and the Borders. Norry the owner has obviously put a lot of thought and effort into making it a great experience for everyone. It actually felt like we were staying at a friend's house rather than a B&B. It's a great idea to have your breakfast served in your room,... More

Very easy to find from the instructions, this b&b is located in a quiet residential area a short walk from the town centre. We were given a warm greeting by Norry the owner as we arrived and shown to a spacious bedroom with its own private dining / sitting room and ensuite bathroom. The dining / sitting room has tea... Alnwick is a great place to stay, lots of pubs and restaurants, places to visit and a good base for Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne. Birnam B&B is in a residential area one mile from the centre - very easy walk. It's very quiet and has beautifully landscaped gardens. The room was modern, clean, large and light with good facilities and... More

Quiet, restful b&b in a suburban setting only 10 mins, walk into Alnwick centre where there is a good selection of eating places. The Tower is really good, not cheap but a high standard. The b&b is very comfortable with a novel arrangement for breakfasts and well worth a try, also as substantial as you want. The host, Nori, is... More

This place will stand out among the many we have stayed in. The breakfast arrangements suited us very well allowing us to enjoy the meal, getting up in our own time and eating in privacy. The room was clean and comfortable with a contemporary feel and plenty of space. Staff were very accomodating and helpful. Would definitely recommend it to... More

Check in was good, room and ensuite nicely decorated, clean and modern. Breakfast is a generous choice of the usual cold things but a very odd main selection of either meat, (ham, salami) or fish, (herring, trout pate, sardine) with potato salad, slice of cheese, beetroot, tinned peach slice and twiglets. If you like a full English, stay away! Breakfast... More
