I would echo other people's reviews of The Bell. I chose it to attend an event at Mildenhall Stadium. Our room overlooked the high street & the church. First thing I noticed was the curtains had come off the rail. Bed was comfy but the bedding had a small tear on the duvet cover. It was however, spotlessly clean &... More

My friends and I booked the bell to attend a wedding in a nearby village. The other reviews are rather accurate... poor scruffy decor and outdated facilities... our room was clean and served its purpose as somewhere to lay our heads. The bed needed replacing and we were woken by loud water pumps from other guests using the shower. The... More

It was an accident we booked into this particular Bell. Very nearby, there is another hotel of a similar name. And, when my girlfriend saw the reviews we were worried. Upon arrival, there was a car parking space next to the rear door. Checked in straight away by a pleasant enough woman. Upstairs the inn is littered with broken furniture... More

The downstairs bar and the staff were OK - nothing special - despite they're 'focus' on great customer service... On arrival in our FAMILY room, we found it to be dated in need of a very good clean. Mould in the bathroom, grubby carpet etc. We even found a screw on the bathroom floor, just waiting for our 18 month... More

We booked the Bell Hotel as we were attending a wedding nearby and at short notice, it was the only hotel with rooms available. Now we know why. The hotel is old and musty and in need of a makeover. Moreover, it was dirty. Our family room was a good size but smelt mouldy and the carpet was dirty. The... More

We were attending a concert at nearby Newmarket Racecourse and could only find this hotel with vacancies. Having read all the very negative views we thought it must be better than a Travelodge. We were right, the room was in need of a makeover, but there is no excuse for dirty makrks on the door or dirty carpet ( see... More

We stayed at The Bell Hotel for one night. The rooms were ok though a little dated the bedding was clean and beds were very comfy. The bathroom needed a makeover but the shower was hot and clean. We ate in the restaurant the night we arrived and that was very good staff excellent and very cheerful. Breakfast in the... More
